Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper To Dinh Tuan introduces the program Pride of the National Flag - Photo: Organizing Committee
On the morning of July 2, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper held a ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the National Flag Pride program (2019 - 2024) at the newspaper's headquarters.
Attending the event were Ms. Truong My Hoa - former Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan - former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Mr. Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue - Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee... along with former leaders, central and Ho Chi Minh City leaders.
Over the past 5 years, the National Flag Pride program has coordinated to organize more than 310 events, presenting and signing contracts to present more than 2.1 million national flags in 54 provinces and cities.
Of which, more than 1.2 million flags from the Million National Flags with Fishermen component were awarded to fishermen in 28 coastal provinces and cities;
Donated 370,150 flags from the Border National Flag component to border guards and people living along the borders of 25 provinces with land borders;
And 533,600 flags from the National Flag Road component to build more than 750 flag routes at the entrances to historical and cultural relics in 44 provinces and cities.
Journalist To Dinh Tuan - editor-in-chief of Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper , head of the program steering committee - information about the program Pride of the National Flag has surpassed the 1 million flag mark, reaching more than 200% of the target.
Mr. Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue - Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - shared: "I hope that the program "Pride of the National Flag" will develop even more strongly in the coming time. It is necessary to promote the meaning of the national flag, arouse patriotism and national pride in every citizen".

On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper awarded prizes for the writing contest with the theme of Inviolable National Sovereignty and the photo contest Sacred National Flag .
The Organizing Committee received nearly 1,000 entries for the two contests. The prize structure for each contest includes 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 2 consolation prizes.
