From commitment to action: ABBANK completes the goal of donating 100,000 cinnamon trees to Yen Bai people

100,000 cinnamon seedlings were brought by ABBANK employees to Pa Lau people.

The event is an important milestone, marking the success of the "Green An Binh - Green Vietnam" campaign launched by ABBANK in early January 2025 within the framework of the An Binh Tet 2025 program - "Green love", demonstrating ABBANK's commitment to accompanying and serving the community, creating sustainable livelihoods and protecting the environment. This is part of the sustainable development strategy, promoting the implementation of green credit policies and integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards in the operations, business and community activities that ABBANK is pursuing.

After more than 3 months of launching and implementing with the strong support of customers, ABBANK staff and the public through many diverse and creative fundraising methods, the 5th year of ABBANK's "Green An Binh - Green Vietnam" campaign has received nearly 330,000 calls for donations to plant trees. These donations are counted through clicks on the program's website; new accounts and cards opened directly at ABBANK's transaction offices nationwide or through digital banking applications.

The joy was evident on the faces of the local people, when together with the ABBANK volunteer group, they planted the first saplings, little by little covering the hill.

100,000 cinnamon seedlings and 7,000 kg of fertilizer were officially presented by ABBANK and the Center for Communication of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to 200 households in Pa Lau commune, Tram Tau district, Yen Bai province. These are all households that have land but due to difficult circumstances have not been able to plant forests for many years. Not only supporting the livelihood and sustainable income for the people, the 100,000 cinnamon trees donated by ABBANK will contribute to greening more than 20 hectares of forest land in Pa Lau commune.

Mr. Hang A Su, Vice Chairman of Pa Lau Commune People's Committee, expressed his appreciation: "Planting 100,000 cinnamon trees not only helps people have a stable source of income in the future but also helps protect the land, prevent erosion, and preserve the ecological environment. We believe that, with the support from ABBANK, the lives of Pa Lau people will increasingly improve."
