According to experts, one of the secrets that helped VinFast quickly rise from zero to take the number 1 position in the Vietnamese automobile market is the "love-based" business strategy , not "abandoning" old customers, making those who have bought VinFast cars always feel secure throughout the product's life cycle.

The unique approach of the Vietnamese car company also contributes to raising the standards of products and services in the market to a new level.

Become number 1 with number 1 behavior

“On behalf of all staff of Vingroup Corporation and VinFast Company, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all VinFast customers and pledge that we will not stop at the results we have achieved but will continuously research and seek solutions to improve the quality of products and services so that customers can be increasingly satisfied.” Those are the sincere thanks and strong commitment of billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, founder of VinFast, to customers when the Vietnamese car company officially rose to the No. 1 position in the Vietnamese market.

Immediately after this milestone, the billionaire “played big” by giving gifts of gratitude to all owners of gasoline and electric vehicles purchased directly from VinFast and authorized dealers before December 31, 2024. The special gift set includes a bottle of premium French wine ordered exclusively; a New Year's lucky money envelope worth VND 888,000 with the meaning of Prosperity and Prosperity and a New Year greeting card signed by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong. All gifts were personally selected by him, as a thank you to all customers who have accompanied VinFast on the journey "from Zero to Hero".

Mr. Ngo The Nam, an auto business owner and the new owner of a VF 7 in Hanoi, said he was very proud to contribute to creating a turning point for the Vietnamese auto industry. That joy was doubled when hundreds of thousands of VinFast users, including him, received gifts of gratitude from billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong himself.

“I have heard that being a Vin customer is very ‘hard’ because sometimes the company ‘gets’ messages with huge gifts. I never expected that I would experience that privilege as soon as I received the car,” Nam shared.

Mr. Hoang Van Cuong (Quang Ninh), one of the first people to own a Lux A2.0 model since the end of 2019, was also surprised to hear that his family continued to receive gifts from VinFast this Tet.

“I was very surprised that now, the company has completely switched to making pure electric cars, but early customers like me still receive such big gifts. I think in the world, only VinFast does not 'have new to replace old'. The first day I chose VinFast because I wanted to support a Vietnamese brand, and the more I see it, the more I realize it was the right choice,” said Mr. Cuong.

Unique business philosophy of "respecting love and justice"

In fact, long-time customers like Mr. Cuong are also familiar with VinFast's "unique" customer care policy. For example, in December 2020, the rookie VinFast made waves in the Vietnamese automobile market when it spent hundreds of billions of VND to thank 30,000 pioneer customers - those who contributed to making VinFast the most favorite car brand in participating segments, just after 18 months of launch.

In February 2024, the company looked for old customers to show gratitude by giving all customers who bought 3 gasoline car models a gift of a maintenance package worth 3 - 5 million VND (depending on the car model) and a 5% discount when buying any VinFast electric car.

Or most recently, aiming to promote green conversion, VinFast gave customers who own VinFast gasoline cars a gift of up to 120 million VND when switching to electric car models VF 7, VF 8, VF 9.

“A gift, big or small, is meaningful, but more importantly, it is the respect and dedicated customer care that no other car company can do besides VinFast,” Mr. Cuong affirmed.

With many years of experience in monitoring the automobile market, expert Le Minh Hai Dang said he is not unfamiliar with VinFast's unique way of doing business. Right from the beginning, VinFast has broken all market conventions, from factory construction, vehicle development to business and after-sales methods, emphasizing the philosophy of "putting customers at the center".

“VinFast does not simply shout slogans but always takes practical actions so that customers are truly kings, even when they have owned the car for many years. That is completely opposite to the buy-sell method commonly seen in foreign car companies,” Mr. Dang commented.

According to him, not only does it satisfy customers, VinFast's business ethics and integrity have contributed to raising the standards of products and services in the market to a new level. There, customers have more voices and more rights.

More broadly, Mr. Dang said that campaigns such as gratitude to old customers or "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future" that the company is strongly implementing nationwide show that VinFast's vision has gone beyond the story of profit. VinFast's goal is to popularize electric cars and promote green transformation in Vietnam.
