From August 29 to September 1: "ASEAN Colors" Friendship Cultural Festival 2024 takes place

From August 29 to September 1, the “ASEAN Colors” Cultural Friendship Festival will be held at Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Hanoi). The program is organized by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with the Embassy of Laos (ASEAN Chair in 2024) and ASEAN countries in Vietnam.

Accordingly, the “ASEAN Colors” Cultural Friendship Festival is an international cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy activity of Hanoi Capital, practically celebrating the 57th anniversary of ASEAN's founding, the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized by UNESCO as a “City for Peace” to strengthen the friendship between the Vietnamese people and the people of ASEAN member countries.

The “Colors of ASEAN” festival will open up a rich cultural space, leading participants on a journey to discover the unique cultures of countries such as Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and many others. Through art activities, exhibitions, and cultural and culinary exchanges, the event promises to bring unique experiences, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of the identity, traditions and people of ASEAN countries.

The program was attended by representatives of many departments, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Associations of the Central Government, along with leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, a number of departments, branches, socio-political organizations; Ambassadors, their spouses and officials of ASEAN embassies and representatives of embassies of some countries in Vietnam, and students of ASEAN countries studying in Hanoi.

Within the framework of the festival, there will be many games such as painting, lego, wood, making clay figurines, papier-mâché masks, bamboo dragonflies, and kite making for families and children to experience and relive their childhood through traditional folk games.

In addition, the festival also has other activities such as: Non-professional art exchange of embassy staff and foreign students; ASEAN costume performance; contemporary musical performance Pinocchio 2024; children's music and dance festival and children's fashion colors; drawing contest "I love Hanoi - city for peace".

The opening ceremony of the “ASEAN Colors” cultural friendship festival will take place at 7:30 p.m. on August 30, 2024 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel with the participation of famous singers and artists. The program is an important foreign event to promote and strengthen friendship between the Vietnamese people and ASEAN countries as well as international friends to spread the spirit of solidarity, love of peace, and arouse the aspiration to build the capital Hanoi into a “Cultured - Civilized - Modern” city.
