From April 1, conduct a survey of businesses in 2025 nationwide

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Director of the General Statistics Office, Ministry of Finance , said that the 2025 enterprise survey will collect information on enterprises, cooperatives/cooperative unions to serve the management, operation, assessment and forecast of the socio-economic situation, policy making, development planning of the entire economy and each locality; at the same time, serve the calculation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in 2024, other statistical indicators of the National Accounts System and statistical indicators of economic sectors. The 2025 enterprise survey is an important annual survey of the Statistics sector to "overall check the health" of enterprises in 63 provinces and centrally run cities.

This survey collects a lot of information from enterprises and cooperatives with production and business activities in all sectors in the Vietnam Economic Industry System (VSIC 2018) except for 3 sectors O (Activities of the Communist Party, socio-political organizations, State management, national security and defense, compulsory social security); sector U (Activities of international organizations and agencies) and sector T (Activities of hired work in families, production of material products and services for household self-consumption).

The Statistics Department will use 5 types of survey forms (survey form No. 2 has 21 types of forms) to collect the following information: identification information of the survey unit; industry of production and business activities; type of enterprise; affiliated establishments of the enterprise; information on labor and income of employees: number of employees; income of employees;

Along with that is information on production and business results and costs: operating results, production and business costs; investment capital; product production output; energy consumption; specialized statistical indicators in the National Statistical Indicator System classified according to the Vietnam Economic Sector System and the Vietnam Product Sector System; information on industrial production products of enterprises and branches of enterprises; information on export and import activities of enterprises; information on transportation costs and insurance costs of imported goods.

Next is information on agricultural, forestry and fishery production that meets the information requirements of the 2025 Rural and Agricultural Census, including information on: number of production units, number of workers; production scale, production capacity; application of science and technology in production, application of digital economy; situation of agricultural land use.

According to the investigation plan, the 2025 Enterprise Survey will be conducted in 63 provinces and centrally-run cities for enterprises with production and business activities in all sectors in the Vietnam Economic Sector System (VSIC 2018) except for 3 sectors: Sector O - Activities of the Communist Party, socio-political organizations, State management, national security and defense, compulsory social security; Sector U - Activities of international organizations and agencies; Sector T - Activities of hiring domestic workers, production of material products and services for household self-consumption.

The subjects of this survey are production and business establishments with production and business activities within the scope of one economic sector at one location (economic sector unit by location) of all national economic sectors, except for sector O (Activities of the Communist Party, socio-political organizations, state management, national security and defense, compulsory social security), sector U (Activities of international organizations and agencies) and sector T (Activities of hired work in families, production of material products and services for self-consumption of households) in the Vietnamese economic sector system.

The General Statistics Office said that the survey period for the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be from April 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025. For provinces and cities with 5,000 or more enterprises, the survey will be conducted from April 1, 2025 to June 30, 2025.

The remaining provinces and cities will conduct the investigation from April 1, 2025 to May 31, 2025. As for corporations and general companies, the investigation will be from June 1, 2025 to July 15, 2025.

The 2025 Enterprise Survey uses an indirect survey method by collecting information online through the use of an electronic survey form Webform. The survey units will provide information on the Webform on the Enterprise Survey Information Portal of the General Statistics Office through the system of authenticating the name and code (password) of the enterprise when accessing the system to fill out the Survey Form https://thongkedoanhnghiep.gov.vn.

According to the 2024 Vietnam Enterprise White Book of the General Statistics Office, compiled from the results of the 2024 Enterprise Survey, as of December 31, 2023, the country had nearly 921,400 operating enterprises, an increase of 2.8% over the same period in 2022. The service sector has the largest concentration of operating enterprises, with over 628,000 enterprises, accounting for 68.2% of the total number of enterprises nationwide. Ho Chi Minh City is the locality with the most enterprises nationwide with 273,100 enterprises, accounting for 29.6% of the total number of operating enterprises nationwide./.
