China is willing to further strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges with Vietnam as well as in the fields of tourism, health, education, youth, etc.

Chinese expert: Visit deepens bilateral relations

Speaking to a VNA reporter in Beijing, Professor Xu Liping, Director of the Southeast Asian Studies Center at the Institute for Global and Asia-Pacific Strategic Studies (CASS), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the exchange of high-level visits, especially in developing relations between China and Vietnam, plays a guiding and guiding role. The core is that the exchange of high-level visits will enhance mutual trust in the strategies of both sides.

Through this strategic mutual trust, the two countries can further promote cooperation between China and Vietnam in areas such as economy, people-to-people exchanges and security. Therefore, this is a very important feature of the relationship between China and Vietnam.

Professor Hua Liping emphasized that through the exchange of high-level visits, in addition to the exchange of visits by government officials, there are also exchanges of delegations through Party channels. It is very important to enhance mutual political trust between China and Vietnam through exchanges on Party channels and state management.

Notably, during the visit of Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to Vietnam last year, senior leaders of the two sides reached a consensus on building a community of shared future of strategic significance between Vietnam and China.

Professor Hua Liping believes that through high-level exchanges, the two sides aim to promote the current comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam to a deeper level and truly benefit the people of the two countries.

Assessing the fact that the leaders of the two countries emphasized the need to promote economic cooperation in all meetings, including the construction of cross-border economic zones and the enhancement of transport infrastructure connectivity, Professor Liu Ying from the Chongyang Institute of Financial Research, Renmin University of China, said that strengthening the construction of the China-Vietnam Cross-Border Economic Cooperation Zone is a top priority. Strengthening the construction of the China-Vietnam Cross-Border Economic Cooperation Zone will help the two countries increase investment in the economic cooperation area; at the same time, enhance the role and position of the two countries in the stable development of the global supply chain and industrial chain.

Professor Liu Anh also said that China and Vietnam need to strengthen cooperation in connecting the "Belt and Road" and "Two Corridors, One Belt," including building and connecting transport infrastructure such as roads, railways, seaports, etc., including improving customs clearance efficiency, so that goods between China and Vietnam can reach each other's markets more quickly.

As a member of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), the efficiency of customs clearance of goods has been greatly increased, which is beneficial to China-Vietnam economic, trade and investment cooperation and promotes economic growth of China, Vietnam and the world.

Regarding solutions to further strengthen the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the coming time, Professor Hua Li Ping said that in the coming time, the two countries need to use head-to-head diplomacy to guide the development of China-Vietnam relations. Second, further strengthen the foundation of interests between China and Vietnam through practical cooperation. Third, effectively resolve differences between the two sides. Finally, strengthen people-to-people exchanges. The two sides need to increase exchanges in areas such as youth, education, health, media, and enhance exchanges and cooperation between localities.

For his part, Professor Luu Anh said that the two sides need to strengthen strategic planning cooperation; strengthen digital economic cooperation; strengthen green economic cooperation; strengthen industrial chain and supply chain cooperation; strengthen financial and monetary cooperation; strengthen local economic and trade cooperation; strengthen educational and cultural cooperation, etc., thereby improving the high-quality development level of the two countries and building a community of sharing the future of Vietnam and China with strategic significance.
