“The close Vietnam-China relationship, both comrades and brothers” is the title of an article in the People's Daily - the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of China, ahead of the State visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam.
The article recalled that President Xi Jinping had visited Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his residence next to Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, Vietnam many times. He said: “In the hearts of our generation of Chinese people, President Ho Chi Minh is the best friend of the Chinese people.”
President Ho Chi Minh was a great leader of the Vietnamese people. He carried out revolutionary activities in China for 12 years and traveled all over China. President Ho Chi Minh was the founder of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association in Guangzhou and the Vietnam Communist Party in Hong Kong (China); at the same time, he led the Vietnamese revolution in Yunnan and Guangxi for a long time and built a deep fighting friendship with the Chinese army and people.
The article said that President Ho Chi Minh once compared the relationship between Vietnam and China to "like lips and teeth, when the lips are exposed, the teeth are cold"; and at the same time, he made a very famous saying: "The close relationship between Vietnam and China is both comradeship and brotherhood."
During the struggle for independence and national liberation, China and Vietnam always stood side by side, supporting each other in all circumstances.
President Xi Jinping has visited Vietnam many times and continuously mentioned this glorious historical period in signed documents, in talks, meetings as well as in important speeches.
The article also recalls the contributions and sacrifices of the army and people of the two countries in the struggle for national independence and liberation.
During the Vietnamese people's resistance wars against France and the United States, more than 1,400 Chinese martyrs were buried on the vast land of Vietnam.
Nanxishan Hospital in Guilin, Guangxi has treated more than 5,000 wounded Vietnamese soldiers and the Yucai School has trained more than 10,000 students for Vietnam.
General Nguyen Son-Hong Thuy - a famous Vietnamese general, actively participated in the Chinese revolution and the Long March of the Red Army.
