Dong Hai 1 Primary School was established according to Decision No. 3932/QD-UBND dated August 15, 2007, of the People's Committee of Phan Rang-Thap Cham City.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Dong Hai 1 Primary School has two campuses, with 28 classes and 965 students. The total number of staff and teachers is 47. The school's facilities are well-invested and meet the requirements of teaching and learning according to the 2018 General Education Program. The school's staff and teachers are always focused on promoting and effectively implementing reforms in management, teaching methods, and assessment, thereby creating positive changes in the quality of education.

Over the past five years, the school has consistently had staff members recognized as outstanding workers at the grassroots level, with over 90% of teachers recognized as excellent teachers at the school level, and some teachers recognized as excellent teachers at the city and provincial levels. The Party branch and the school's youth organizations and trade union have consistently been recognized for successfully completing their tasks every year.
