Bac Tu Liem District (Hanoi) has just announced the results of the district-level exam to select excellent students in cultural subjects for grade 9 in the 2024-2025 school year. This year, Newton Secondary and High School leads with 50 prizes and 4 valedictorians in each subject.
The district-level examination for selecting excellent students in cultural subjects of grade 9 in Hanoi is held annually. This is an important and meaningful professional activity to evaluate the quality of key education of secondary schools in the capital.
For many years, in Bac Tu Liem district, Newton Secondary and High School has become a familiar name to be called first in the award categories. In this year's competition, the school's students had a strong breakthrough in the quantity and quality of awards.
Specifically, in 9/9 subjects, the total number of awards that Newton students achieved was 50, ranking first in the whole Bac Tu Liem district. Students who won high prizes in the exam will continue to enter the selection round of the District team to participate in the city-level 9th grade excellent student exam held in the near future.
The school won 8 First prizes, 22 Second prizes, 13 Third prizes and 7 Encouragement prizes. The two subjects that Newton School won the most prizes compared to other schools in the district were Information Technology (10 prizes) and English (8 prizes).
Out of the total of 50 prizes, including 8 First prizes, Newton School had 4 students with the highest scores (valedictorians) based on exam scores. They were: Tran Hoang Lam (class 8G0) - Valedictorian of Information Technology; Nguyen Dang Khoa (class 9G0) - Valedictorian of Mathematics; Bui Ngoc Kien (class 9GN) - Valedictorian of Biology and Nguyen Ngoc Huong Giang (class 9A1) - Valedictorian of History.
The exam also marked the outstanding achievements of Newton students who “have talent beyond their age” when they participated in the exam at a higher level and achieved excellent results. There were 20/50 prizes registered by students of grades 7 and 8 of Newton School; especially Tran Hoang Lam, class 8G0, who excelled and won the valedictorian title in Information Technology.
“The above results, in addition to the students' ability, efforts, and fighting spirit; the active support of parents; the experience and dedication of teachers, must also include the right direction and methodical strategy in the process of training and nurturing excellent students of the school,” the school representative expressed.
The excellent achievements in the district-level excellent student competition in the 2024-2025 school year continue to contribute to affirming the training quality of the Newton Inter-level School System. It is also a strong motivation for Newton teachers and students to constantly strive on the journey of knowledge.
