Accordingly, this year, the Gifted Secondary School of the University of Education will enroll 105 students (equivalent to 3 classes).

Candidates must have a comprehensive assessment of primary school education at the end of the school year at a good level or higher and have a valid profile.

The school recruits students in 2 rounds, in which round 1 is preliminary selection, round 2 evaluates students' overall ability.

The preliminary round is evaluated by scores according to the following criteria:

- Scores for excellent and talented students: based on the results of participation in social activities, talent competitions in culture, arts, sports at provincial, national, regional and international levels. The scoring is as follows: First prize is 5 points, Second prize is 4 points, Third prize is 3 points, Encouragement prize is 2 points.

- The results of the summary of the educational assessment of students at the end of the school year in each primary school class at the excellent level are awarded 3 points; the good level is awarded 2 points.

Preliminary score = Excellent student exam score + 5-year primary school study results

Students with a total preliminary score of 12 points or more will be able to participate in the second round of capacity assessment.

In round 2, the school uses a comprehensive competency assessment. The assessment content is knowledge of cultural, artistic, and physical education subjects in the primary education program, mainly in the current grade 5 program of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The form of assessment is an objective test combined with an essay test. Candidates do the test directly on paper, in 120 minutes, and are graded on a 100-point scale.

Candidates who are shortlisted for admission must meet the admission requirements and not violate the regulations to the extent that their results will be canceled.

The school will consider admission based on the score of the comprehensive assessment test in the following way: from the student with the highest admission score down until the quota is met. In case there are many candidates with the same admission score at the last quota, the admission board will consider and decide.

The admission fee is 500,000 VND/student, including: registration fee and first round preliminary selection fee: 100,000 VND/student; comprehensive capacity assessment fee: 400,000 VND/student. This fee is paid once at the same time as submitting the application for the exam, the school will not refund if the candidate drops out of the exam.

The University of Education Gifted Secondary School also noted that based on the results of the comprehensive capacity assessment and certificates of winning prizes in social activities, talent competitions organized within the province, nationwide, regional and international (if any) in cultural, artistic and sports subjects, the students will be placed in classes suitable to their abilities and strengths.

Upon entering the school, students will study the 2018 general secondary school program as prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training; at the same time, participate in experiential, career guidance and talent development programs in the form of clubs in the following fields: Mathematics and Information Technology; Natural Sciences and Technology; Social Sciences and Arts.

The estimated tuition fee is 4 million VND/student/month. The school will announce the specific tuition fee after receiving instructions from the Ministry of Education and Training on tuition fees for secondary schools with regular self-financing (collecting tuition for 9 months/school year).
