On the evening of August 20, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced the results of the meeting between the department and the American International Primary, Secondary and High School (Nha Be district) on preparations for the new school year.
Accordingly, after listening to the report of the American International School on the implementation of the contents to ensure the resumption of activities, the transfer of students to ensure the right to study of students in the 2024-2025 school year, and listening to the opinions of the specialized departments under the Department, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Bao Quoc concluded that the American International School was not allowed to conduct a survey to determine whether students would continue to study at the school or not.
In addition, during the suspension period, the school is not allowed to organize any educational activities as prescribed.
American International School is responsible for notifying parents of students about school transfers and guiding parents through the transfer procedures.
The school assigns a person in charge to sign the transfer documents and requires this to be done before the start of the new school year, to avoid affecting the student's enrollment time, and must comply with current regulations.
If there is any illegal behavior, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will apply measures to ensure that the school complies with the regulations.
When the unit submits a complete application and sufficient evidence to ensure the conditions for resuming operations, the Department of Education and Training will consider the request for a license to resume educational operations.
Up to now, the school has not ensured the conditions for educational activities.
Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc also requested specialized departments to review the data of students transferring schools, coordinate with the Departments of Education and Training and high schools in Ho Chi Minh City to create favorable conditions for students of American International Primary, Secondary and High School who need to transfer schools, ensuring that students are enrolled on schedule for the 2024-2025 school year.
At the same time, the department will continue to monitor and check the supporting documents of the American International Primary and Secondary School if the unit submits an application in the coming time; proactively coordinate with relevant departments and branches to grasp the situation of the unit's budget obligations, thereby considering the school's resumption of educational activities.
