Truong Son - a desirable place to live.

Flower cultivation is proving highly effective in Truong Son commune.

Recognizing that building new rural villages and communes is a continuous and ongoing process with "only a starting point, no end point," aiming for sustainable rural development, after completing the targets in the enhanced New Rural Area criteria, Truong Son commune is determined to embark on building a model new rural commune. The Party Committee and People's Committee of Truong Son commune continue to direct the synchronized implementation of the criteria, applying and integrating various programs, projects, and mass movements, especially the "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" movement. The commune has also intensified propaganda work, ensuring that every official, Party member, and citizen deeply understands and grasps the guiding principle: "Stopping is deviating from the standard, slow progress is falling behind."

In the process of building new rural communes, advanced new rural communes, and model new rural communes, the locality prioritizes the people; and uses the consensus and exemplary conduct of officials and Party members as the guiding principle for leadership and direction. For the criteria of building model new rural communes, the locality develops specific plans and implements them in the manner of "each household dedicating at least one hour each day to cleaning their house, garden, and alley; each week, the village selects one day to do common village work; each month, one task is selected to be completed." Thanks to this creative and flexible approach, Truong Son has made smooth progress and completed the criteria for building model new rural communes.

A prominent feature of Truong Son commune is the model of "clean houses - beautiful gardens - civilized roads and alleys." To build this model, residential clusters proactively discuss and contribute funds to widen sidewalks, build drainage ditches, flower beds, and plant and care for trees. Many households compete to renovate their houses and family yards to be spacious, clean, and beautiful, ensuring the goal of both economic development and rural aesthetics. To date, 37 households in the commune have garden areas of 500m2 or more that are uniformly planned and well-maintained, creating a highlight for the model rural area. Households with garden areas under 500m2 have also boldly switched from low-value crops to planting higher-value fruit trees and vegetables. Currently, all 11 residential areas are model residential areas, with over 200 model gardens meeting the standards.

Every year, the commune Party Committee issues numerous thematic resolutions on strengthening the Party's leadership in organizing agricultural production towards value chain linkages, ensuring VietGAP standards; promoting livestock development according to family farm and farm models; effectively implementing agricultural production projects; and building rice fields with income exceeding 100 million VND/hectare/year. Of the total area of over 300 hectares of rice land in the locality, high-quality rice accounts for approximately 70% each season; and there are more than 50 hectares of commercial rice meeting standards.

VietGAP (Vietnam Agricultural Products Association) promotes production linkages along the value chain. Currently, the locality has high-quality rice products under the brand name "Huong Que Clean Rice," which are favored by many customers. In addition, the commune is also pursuing pilot projects to build modern agricultural zones adapted to climate change. A prime example is the VietGAP-compliant safe vegetable farming model covering 3 hectares in Thanh Lien village, yielding an income of over 250 million VND/hectare/year.

The entire commune has 426 individual businesses, including 2 industrial garment companies, 1 garment processing company, and 8 enterprises, providing stable employment for hundreds of local workers. Notably, the Thanh Lien conical hat making village has been recognized as a traditional craft village by the Provincial People's Committee.

Besides focusing on production development, the commune also focuses on developing education , health, and culture. To date, 98% of the commune's residents participate in health insurance, and 100% of the permanent residents have their health managed and monitored. The enrollment rate for kindergarten and first grade, and the rate of children completing primary school, all reach 100%. The locality has also developed cultural and sports activities that attract 80% of the commune's residents. 100% of villages and hamlets have cultural and artistic teams or clubs that operate regularly and effectively. All villages maintain traditional annual village festivals, serving as places to preserve and educate future generations about the historical and cultural traditions of the homeland. Social welfare is given attention, especially for families of war veterans and elderly people living alone.

Truong Son today is flourishing day by day, contributing to the further progress of the locality in the future. Cadres, Party members, and the people here will work together to build an increasingly prosperous homeland.
