A representative of Foreign Trade University has just explained that in 2024, the high school exam will be supplemented with a minimum score of 24 points for admission methods using high school study results.
Foreign Trade University has just announced the methods of regular university admission in 2024, including:
Method 1: Admission based on high school academic results for candidates who participate in/win prizes in the national excellent student competition or the national science and technology competition, win prizes (First, Second, Third) in provincial/city excellent students in grade 11 or grade 12, and candidates in the specialized system of national key high schools/specialized high schools.
Method 2: Admission based on a combination of international language certificates and high school academic results/international competency certificates for specialized and non-specialized candidates of high schools.
Method 3 : Admission based on a combination of International Language Certificates and 2024 High School Graduation Exam results.
Method 4: Admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam according to the school's admission subject combinations.
Method 5 : Admission based on the results of the Competency Assessment exams organized by VNU Hanoi and VNU Ho Chi Minh City in 2024
Method 6: Direct admission in 2024.

Compared to 2023, the admission methods of Foreign Trade University in 2024 will basically remain unchanged. However, a notable new point in 2024 is that in the admission methods using high school academic results, Foreign Trade University has added a condition that the candidates' high school graduation exam scores must ensure the school's minimum score of 24 points or higher.
Specifically, with methods 1 and 2, in 2024, candidates must meet the additional condition of having a total score of the 2024 high school graduation exam subjects of one of the school's admission subject groups (including regional and subject priority points) of 24 points or higher.
This is a way to improve the quality of input, through which the school can select the best candidates to be admitted.
Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Vice Principal of Foreign Trade University, said that in 2024, the school will basically maintain stable admission methods compared to last year. "Every year, the school evaluates the learning and training results of students admitted through different methods and finds that the quality is consistent between the methods. In addition, we also want to maintain stability so that candidates are not psychologically affected in the final stage of admission preparation."
Explaining the adjustment to the methods using high school learning results, Ms. Huong said that, based on research on the characteristics of general education, the school has considered suitable target groups and appropriate quota ratios as well as high conditions to ensure that the school can select the best group of candidates for admission.
"The addition of the necessary condition of ensuring the minimum score of the high school graduation exam in the general admission of the school has two reasons. First, to unify the application of the minimum score of the high school graduation exam at the excellent level of 24 points for all methods. Second, it is possible to use the comparison of high school graduation exam results and high school learning results as an indirect tool to help high schools standardize student assessment work.
We should not have the mentality of denying the assessment results in the whole process of general education, but should respect, accept them on a scientific basis and accompany to help the general education system become better and closer to international education," said Ms. Huong.
