(Dan Tri) - After 4 years of construction, the Yen Thanh kindergarten project in area B has not been completed due to lack of capital. The billion-dollar project is currently abandoned, while more than 100 children have to go to school at another school.
Yen Thanh Kindergarten Project Area B was invested with 14.8 billion VND, invested by Yen Thanh Commune People's Committee (Yen Mo District, Ninh Binh). The project started construction in 2020, expected to be completed in 2022, but to date it is still in a state of unfinished construction and abandoned.

Ms. Pham Thi Huyen, Chairwoman of Yen Thanh Commune People's Committee, said that there are 3 kindergartens in the commune, divided into areas A, B and C. Area B school previously only had a 1-storey classroom block, which was not functional enough and was very cramped.
"In 2020, the Commune People's Committee invested in rebuilding the facilities of the school in area B so that Yen Thanh Kindergarten can meet level II standards. However, due to difficulties in funding, the project has not been completed yet," said Ms. Huyen.
According to Dan Tri reporter, the 3-storey Yen Thanh kindergarten in area B has completed the rough construction, many classrooms have doors and sanitary equipment installed but have not been painted.

In the old level 4 house, school supplies and children's toys were piled up. Due to not being used for a long time, dust covered everything, and many of the equipment was damaged. Around the school yard, due to being abandoned for a long time, weeds grew wildly.
The billion-dollar project has been left unfinished and abandoned for many years, causing residents to feel heartbroken. For many years, because the project has not been completed, more than 100 preschool children in the villages of Loc, Bai and La (Yen Thanh commune) have had to go to school at other schools.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mui (La village) shared that the school is almost finished but still not ready for use, parents are looking forward to it every day. In recent years, many families have had difficulty picking up and dropping off their children because the school is located several kilometers away.

"Our house is near the school in area B. Because the school is still under construction, every day I have to take my two children to another school, nearly 2km away from home. We just hope that the new school will be completed soon so that the children will no longer have to go to another school," said Mrs. Mui.
Ms. Pham Thi Huyen, Chairwoman of Yen Thanh Commune People's Committee, said that in the coming time, when additional funding is allocated, the locality will focus on completing and putting the project into use.
"We strive to put the project into use in the 2025-2026 school year, and students will be able to study in this new school," said Ms. Huyen.
