On June 21, 1980, General Secretary Le Duan received the International Lenin Prize “For Strengthening Peace Among Nations”. With love and concern for the education of the young generation, the General Secretary presented that gift to the children of the capital.
On May 19, 1983, according to Resolution 286 of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers' School in Hanoi was established. The school is a place to educate about communism and revolutionary traditions for the young generation of the capital, a place where they are trained and strive to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings, strive for the purpose of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers' School to become future masters of the country.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of General Secretary Le Duan's birthday, April 7, 1987, the School was officially named: Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Cadre School named after Le Duan (abbreviated as Le Duan School).
Le Duan School has a scale equivalent to a vocational high school, is a training facility, fostering professional skills in the work of the Young Pioneers for cadres in charge, Young Pioneer cadres; is a place for research, application, scientific consultation on the work of the Young Pioneers, the work of being in charge of the Young Pioneers and the work of educating children; organizes and guides recreational activities, fosters the capacity of children to work; discovers and fosters factors with the ability to work in society for the city; is the main information center on the science of the Young Pioneers' work, the work of educating children in the city.
In 2018, Le Duan School was honored to be assigned by the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee with the additional task of training and fostering Youth Union and Association officials. Specifically, in coordination with the Hanoi Youth Union, the Youth Union and Association of Vietnam in 30 districts and towns, it will train skills and expertise, research models and exchange practical experiences for Youth Union and Association officials in the capital. In addition, Le Duan School will also organize training in skills and expertise of Youth Union work for key Youth Union officials of the Vientiane Youth Union (Laos) starting in 2022.
With the achievements in 40 years of construction and development, Le Duan School was honored to be awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the Party and State for the first and second times; Second Class Labor Medal, First Class Labor Medal and Third Class Independence Medal.
In 2018, on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of its establishment, the School was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; many collectives and individuals in the School were awarded certificates of merit by the Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Training, Central Youth Union, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee and Hanoi Youth Union.
These are noble awards and recognition of the great contributions of many generations of the Board of Directors, managers, officials, teachers, employees, students of the School over the past 40 years. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of its establishment and receiving the Second Class Labor Medal for the second time is an opportunity for teachers and students to be proud of the school's tradition, thereby promoting solidarity, innovation and creativity to build Le Duan School to develop more and more strongly.
At the ceremony, Le Duan School was honored to welcome the Central Party Committee member, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to attend, award the Second Class Labor Medal for the second time and present the school with a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh. This is a great source of motivation for the school to continue to strive and strive to be creative, worthy of the affection and trust of the Vice President and the leaders of the Central Committee, Hanoi City; of generations of Youth Union, Association, Pioneers and youth of the Capital for the school.
Before that, at Le Duan Schoolyard, the opening of the Photo Exhibition introducing the 40-year journey of building and developing Le Duan School took place. The valuable images at the Exhibition are an affirmation of the school's role and mission in training Youth Union, Association, and Team cadres for the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hanoi City; at the same time, it is an opportunity to affirm the achievements and review the school's traditions in recent years.
In the afternoon of the same day, at Le Duan School, the traditional meeting program "May Emotions" took place to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Le Duan School's founding. This was an opportunity for school officials, generations of students to meet, exchange, and review the 40-year journey of building and developing Le Duan School; thereby affirming the important position and role of the school in training and educating the staff of the Youth Union, Association, and Young Pioneers of the Capital; fostering pride, strengthening solidarity towards building a sustainable school.
At the Program, the Board of Directors of Le Duan School commended and rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the peak emulation period towards celebrating the 40th anniversary of Le Duan School. Also at the program, the For the Young Generation Medal of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union was awarded to 2 individuals; 3 collectives and 4 individuals were honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the City People's Committee. In addition, the Board of Directors of Le Duan School awarded the "May Emotions" Composition Camp with 5 A prizes, 7 B prizes and 13 C prizes in the categories: Literature, poetry, painting, photography and music.
