Reading comprehension question (question 1: 3 points): Question a (0.5 points): requires candidates to answer closely to the text and only need 2 ideas. If candidates answer outside the text, they will not receive any points.
Question b (0.5 points): Candidates must answer both parts, correctly name the "call-response component" (0.25 points) and correctly identify the word "Mother" (0.25 points). Cases such as incorrectly naming (modal or adverbial), or identifying extra or missing words (only the word "oi") will result in losing points.
Candidates prepare to enter the literature exam room for the 10th grade exam in Ho Chi Minh City.
Question c (1 point): requires 4 answers, if the candidate answers without 1 answer, 0.25 points will be deducted. If the candidate writes down Dang Thuy Tram's quote verbatim, there will be no points. The word "mine" must be removed from those quotes for them to be accepted.
Question d (1 point): requires the candidate to have a clear and decisive attitude (like or dislike), have an argument explaining why and not make any mistakes in expression to get full marks.
Social discussion question (question 2: 3 points): It is acceptable for candidates to write longer than required, but if they write in a paragraph, points will be deducted. The maximum score if written in a paragraph is 1.75/3 points. Because the question requires many expressions, such as saying thank you, sorry, love, confiding..., if candidates only discuss one expression (such as thank you/ungrateful), they will receive the maximum score of 1 out of a total of 3 points.
In social essays (and literary essays), if a candidate makes 5 or more mistakes (spelling, word usage, sentence structure...) 0.25 points will be deducted.
Literary argumentation question (question 3: 4 points): If the candidate does question 1 and chooses a story as the text to analyze (the question requires a poem), he/she will only be graded on the structure (0.5 point), expression (0.25 point), and content is 0.75 point. Therefore, the maximum score if the candidate chooses the wrong text genre according to the question's requirements is 1.5 points out of a total of 4 points. If the candidate writes a paragraph, but must be very good, then the maximum score is only 2.75 points. Question 2 also has the same requirements as question 1.
