Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announces sample test questions for capacity assessment from 2025

On the afternoon of August 15, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education announced the sample test for assessing specialized competencies to be applied from 2025. According to the school, to be consistent with the new general education program, the specialized competency assessment test from 2025 will have many improvements in the structure of the tests.

The sample exam is designed to serve students studying the 2018 general education program participating in exams held from 2025, in which 70-80% of the knowledge content is the grade 12 program, the rest is the grade 10 and 11 programs.

The English proficiency test still maintains the approach of the test format of assessing proficiency from level 3 to level 5 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam. The remaining subjects have many improvements in the structure of the tests with the question format applied to the tests including multiple choice questions and closed/open essay questions. The test time is 90 minutes.

The Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology competency tests will have 40 questions and are divided into 3 parts: Part 1: single questions, Part 2: comprehensive questions, Part 3: fill-in-the-blank questions. The Literature competency test includes a Reading Comprehension section and a Writing section.

From 2025, the specialized competency assessment exam will continue to be conducted with exams in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature and English with an expected expanded scale not only serving the school's enrollment work but also for other universities such as Hanoi National University of Education, University of Education - University of Danang; University of Industry and Trade, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Van Lang University, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Tay Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy, etc.
