On the morning of December 23, Lac Hong University (Dong Nai) held the inauguration ceremony of a semiconductor microcircuit laboratory with an investment of more than 6.7 billion VND.
Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Principal of Lac Hong University, said that in preparation for the operation of the semiconductor microcircuit laboratory, the university has actively expanded international cooperation with strategic partners such as Onsemi, Synopsys and universities in Taiwan (China), Korea and the US.
Training activities for lecturers, sending experts to attend courses abroad and signing memorandums of understanding have contributed to improving the capacity of the team. As of December 2024, 6 lecturers of the school have received in-depth training in this field.
According to Mr. Hien, the semiconductor microcircuit lab will not only be a place to train students but also a space for research cooperation and technology testing between universities and businesses. With its pioneering role in investment and technology transfer, the school aims to become the leading training and research center on semiconductor microcircuits in the Southeast region.
The major in microchip engineering technology is organized by Lac Hong University to enroll and train from the 2023-2024 school year with 50 students currently studying.
At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Secretary of Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, emphasized the importance of the semiconductor microchip field for technological development and highly appreciated the efforts of Lac Hong University in proactively investing and cooperating internationally to improve the quality of training and scientific research.
He suggested that provincial departments and branches coordinate to accelerate investment attraction in the semiconductor sector, while orienting universities to focus on training high-quality human resources to meet labor market needs.
