Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, Rector of the University of Transport, expressed the school's honor in organizing the inauguration ceremony in an exciting and proud atmosphere towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification - a sacred historical milestone of the nation. At the same time, he affirmed that this is an event of special significance, not only for the school but also forthe education and training sector of the country.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung said that after 80 years of construction and development, the University of Transport has continuously affirmed its position as a leading training, scientific research and technology transfer unit in the field of transport in Vietnam. From this school, hundreds of thousands of engineers, masters and doctors have graduated, many of whom are currently holding key positions in key areas of the country.


With the orientation of becoming a multidisciplinary, multi-field university with a research orientation, the University of Transport is gradually expanding its training fields, promoting international cooperation, improving the quality of scientific research, technology transfer, while maintaining its commitment to social responsibility for the sustainable development of the country's transport sector.
Accordingly, in Decision No. 452/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2025 of the Prime Minister on approving the Planning of the network of higher education and pedagogical institutions for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the University of Transport becomes one of the five key higher education institutions in engineering and technology, the only school in the field of transport and is prioritized for investment and development by the State.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, the project of the administrative and working center building for lecturers and staff of the University of Transport has been under construction since January 2023 with a scale of 15 floors above ground, 2 basements on a construction area of 965 m2 with synchronous and modern equipment. The project has a total investment of 240 billion VND from the State budget and the school's counterpart capital.

The project is closely directed by the Minister of Education and Training, the leaders of the Department of Planning and Finance, with the efforts of the investor - University of Transport, the project management unit - Project Management Board of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Supervision Consultant - Construction Technology Development and Project Management Joint Stock Company and the construction contractors - Joint Venture of the 319 Corporation of the Ministry of National Defense, Grand M&E Mechanical and Electrical Joint Stock Company, and the Electrical Industry Construction Joint Stock Company.
The project has gone through many difficulties, in a narrow construction area within the school campus and in harsh weather conditions. However, with the construction spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", the project was completed on schedule approved by the Ministry of Education and Training.
“This is a key project of the school, fundamentally and comprehensively changing the working conditions of lecturers and staff, meeting the average working area of 10 m2/1 lecturer with many modern working equipment, ensuring that each lecturer has his/her own working space to focus on training, research and professional development. This will be the motivation for staff and lecturers to focus their resources on the development of the school, contributing to improving the quality of training and scientific research”, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung emphasized.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son sent his congratulations to the Board of Directors, staff and students of the University of Transport because in the limited facilities of universities, they have taken advantage of State investments and built a very beautiful and modern project.

According to the Minister, over the past time, the University of Transport has always been one of the units that are very active in absorbing investment and disbursing to transform investment resources into works and infrastructure serving training and scientific research. The Minister praised the school for its great efforts and has always been considered a model for other universities in the field of investment.
The Minister emphasized that in the near future, the University of Transport faces many opportunities in training high-quality human resources for the country in the field of technology and engineering. There are many challenges, but also opportunities ahead.
With the improvement of facilities, the Minister hopes that the school will have more conditions to best fulfill its great responsibilities and missions to the education sector and the country. At the same time, he hopes that the school will quickly complete its operating conditions to best exploit and fully operate this building in the shortest time possible.
“With such a massive and beautiful building on the outside, I also hope that everything on the inside will be equally impressive. The administrative aspect must also be beautiful, smart, synchronous, and modern. I really hope that the school will develop and go along with modern facilities and infrastructure,” the Minister emphasized.

It is known that the construction of the central building for operations and work of staff and lecturers of the University of Transport has a total investment of 240 billion VND, construction time from January 7, 2023 to October 27, 2024.
The scale of the project is to demolish the old building and build a new central building for operations and working of lecturers and staff on a plot of land with an area of 1,844m2, including a main building with 15 floors above ground, 2 basements, a total floor area of 16,427m2 and synchronous equipment for the building.
This is also one of the key projects of Hanoi city, which is of special importance to the development of the education and training sector; aiming to improve facilities, improve the working environment, create favorable working conditions for lecturers and management, contributing to improving the quality of training and research of the University of Transport.
