Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy increases tuition fees, the highest major is nearly 85 million VND/year

The above information was announced by a representative of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy at the Admissions Consulting Day organized by the school on April 14.

For students entering the 2024 class, the school plans to apply a 10% increase in tuition fees for many majors compared to students entering the 2023 class:

This year, Dentistry is still the major with the highest tuition fee at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City, estimated at 84.7 million VND/year. This is also the major with the highest tuition increase compared to last year, nearly 8 million VND.

The Medical Faculty increased tuition by 7.4 million VND, also exceeding the tuition threshold of 80 million VND/year.

The Public Health sector alone has an increase of at least 1 million VND, from 45 million VND/year to 46 million VND/year.

Other majors will increase by about 4 - 5 million VND compared to 2023. The newly announced tuition fees of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will be applied in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

The school representative said that each year the school spends 5.5 billion VND to award scholarships, each worth 25-100% of tuition fees for students in difficult circumstances and students with excellent academic achievements. In addition, students can receive scholarships from many organizations and businesses, with a total budget of about 4 billion VND.

In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will enroll 2,516 (an increase of 100 compared to 2023) with 2 groups A00 and B00.

Candidates can apply to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 5 ways: direct admission, considering 2024 high school graduation exam scores, considering a combination of graduation exam scores and IELTS certificates, considering SAT scores, and considering university preparatory candidates.

2024 is also the first year that Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy will consider admission based on SAT scores for two majors: Medicine and Dentistry. Candidates must achieve an SAT score of 1,340/1,600 or higher to be considered for admission in this form.

For candidates applying for admission by combining graduation exam scores and IELTS certificates, they need to achieve 6.0 for 5 majors: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Traditional Medicine, Public Medicine. For the remaining majors, candidates need to have IELTS 5.0.

Last year, the admission score based on high school graduation scores of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy was around 19 - 27.34. Medicine was the major with the highest admission score.
