Foreign Trade University announces a series of new points in the 2025 admissions process

On March 30, Foreign Trade University organized "Admission Day - The Road to the Sea in 2025". This event helps students understand their training professions, make suitable choices for themselves, as well as provide information on enrollment and admission methods to increase their chances of being admitted to university.

Training linked to career development

In her opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thu Huong, Vice President of Foreign Trade University, said that on its development journey, the University has faced many difficulties and challenges in the process of comprehensive educational innovation. That has gradually forged a creative, vibrant, highly internationalized and colorful Foreign Trade University, where learners can explore and develop their own abilities to demonstrate the excellence in each individual; where learners have the conditions to form creative thinking, design thinking and critical thinking; where learners reflect and perceive their responsibilities to themselves, to their families, to those around them, to the community and to society.

At the same time, create an environment where learners are ready to face all challenges, adapt to all unusual changes in the environment as well as the development of science and technology; where learners know how to accept diversity and respect differences, where learners have the opportunity to access the international labor market, to initially form their own network of connections and ecosystems.

High school students participate in the "Admission Day" of Foreign Trade University

To fulfill the mission of a companion, over the years, Foreign Trade University has gradually built and developed a training model closely linked to the career development of learners. Thereby, creating the best possible conditions for learners to experience, face challenges and learn to overcome them, gradually nurturing the capacity for innovation, developing professional practice capacity, and the ability to adapt to market changes under the impact of science and technology and the world of unusual changes.

Apply 4 admission methods

Sharing about the school's training programs and admission methods in 2025, MSc. Pham Thanh Ha, Deputy Head of the Training Management Department, said that the total enrollment target of Foreign Trade University in 2025 is 4,180, an increase of 50 targets compared to 2024.

The school applies 4 admission methods including: Admission using high school academic results; Admission using 2025 high school graduation exam results; Direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; and the new method of Admission using domestic and international competency assessment certificates.

Basically, the School will maintain the same admission methods as in 2024 and only adjust some minor details to ensure compliance with the 2025 University Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Specifically, there will be no more early admission methods and all methods must follow the general admission process. Direct admission is carried out in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Second, the school that considers admission based on high school academic results must use the academic results of the entire 12th grade year (6 semesters) of the candidate. Eliminate the regulation that each major and each program has a maximum of 4 admission combinations.

The priority bonus points (including regional and target priority points) of each candidate shall not exceed 10% of the maximum admission score.

According to MSc. Pham Thanh Ha, candidates using the Hanoi National University's Competency Assessment certificate should note: This year's Competency Assessment exam structure has an additional optional part.

"Therefore, candidates who choose part 3 (optional) as Science, then choose 2 fields as Physics and Chemistry will be considered for admission to the school's standard programs, except for the standard commercial language programs. If the optional part 3 is English, candidates will be considered for admission to all standard programs, including the standard commercial language programs," Ms. Ha emphasized.

For candidates using international competency assessment certificates, this year, the threshold score for receiving applications has increased compared to 2024. Specifically, for SAT certificates, the threshold score for schools to receive applications has increased from 1260 to 1380 points; ACT certificates have increased from 27 to 30 points.

Dynamic environment, many career opportunities

"Admission Day - The Road to the Sea in 2025" of Foreign Trade University attracted the participation of more than three thousand students nationwide to learn about the training programs and learning environment at the University.

In particular, this year's enrollment day was innovated in scale and organization, featuring experiential classes on four topics: Design thinking: Career orientation and future creation; Innovation and sustainable development; Machine learning applications to predict future salary trends and a workshop to explore the history of coffee combined with the experience of creating latte art.

At the Festival, leaders of Foreign Trade University, faculties, specialized institutes and the Student Support Center directly answered questions from students and parents about the training program, admission methods, learning environment as well as provided advice on choosing a suitable career at the school's specialized counseling area.

Nguyen Thanh Thuy (student of Le Quy Don High School, Ha Dong) was particularly impressed with the direct consultation sessions at Foreign Trade University - where teachers and students shared about their learning experiences and career opportunities after graduation.

"Foreign Trade University is a school that I have loved for a long time and wished to study at. Through this event, I realized that the school is not only outstanding in teaching quality but also extremely dynamic, full of challenges and opportunities for personal development," Thanh Thuy expressed.

Similarly, Chu Lan Anh (grade 12 student, Nhan Chinh High School) said that stories from previous generations not only provided a clear perspective on the learning environment at Foreign Trade University, but also motivated her to study hard to conquer the upcoming exam.

In addition to the experiential classes, Foreign Trade University also organized a sharing session on the i-Hons Advanced Program in International Business and Business Data Analytics (in cooperation with the University of Queensland, a member of the group of leading universities in Australia, ranked Top 40 worldwide according to QS World University Rankings 2025).

Within the framework of the Festival, the exchange program "Choose a major, meet insiders" took place with the participation of Foreign Trade University students, providing a realistic perspective on the university environment, as well as student life and majors, helping students have more information to orient their future.
