University of Transport signed a cooperation agreement with a Korean road company

Researching and transferring new environmentally friendly construction material technologies that meet the requirements of sustainable development is one of the contents of the cooperation memorandum between the University of Transport (UTC) and Hansoo Road Industry Co., Ltd. (Korea), SIC Investment Construction Trading Joint Stock Company (SIC), Tan Hoang Mai Joint Stock Company recently signed.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Principal of the University of Transport, said that UTC is one of the leading and long-standing prestigious schools in Vietnam in training human resources for the transport sector.

The school has been building and maintaining good cooperative relationships with many partners around the world , including Korea. “We have implemented many programs and projects that bring practical benefits to the Vietnamese construction industry,” said Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung.

He hopes that the two sides will actively work together to build and implement a cooperation plan based on the principle of jointly implementing scientific research projects to create new products for application in the transport engineering industry to meet the requirements of sustainable development.

Mr. Joungho Park, Chairman of Hansoo Company, said that after signing the agreement, Hansoo will provide products researched and developed by Hansoo itself to the University of Transport to carry out pilot evaluation projects.

“These research results will be shared by both sides and published in the Journal of Transport Science of the University of Transport, international journals or at international conferences,” said Mr. Joungho Park.

The representative of Hansoo Company Limited also informed that the unit will support all materials for research projects and part of the annual planned budget.

Hansoo Co., Ltd. also pledged to support and share new construction technologies that the unit has deployed. In addition, the Company also created conditions for students of the University of Transport to participate in training courses on new technologies and construction methods in the road sector in Korea.

According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan, University of Transport, in addition to professional support, the school will also support Hansoo Company Limited in organizing communication programs, promoting the brand and introducing the unit's products in Vietnam if needed.

Within the framework of the cooperation ceremony, the Faculty of Construction Engineering, University of Transport, Hansoo Road Industry Co., Ltd. and SIC Investment Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company also signed a cooperation implementation plan agreement for 2024, including cooperation activities in applying Hansoo's new material technology products in the field of road construction and maintenance.

SIC Company commits to sponsor production and construction of experimental evaluation of technologies, receive students majoring in Construction Materials and Technology to intern at the company, visit the factory, intern at construction works using Hansoo materials, participate in scientific research topics on the application of new products in road construction.

The above cooperation commitments also show the interest of many experts and scientists in the issue of sustainable transport development in Vietnam.
