Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, 51 years old, is from Hung Yen province. Before being appointed as the Rector of the University of Transport, he was the Vice Rector and Director of the branch campus in Ho Chi Minh City.

On December 18th, the University of Transport and Communications held a ceremony to announce the decision to appoint Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung as the Rector of the University of Transport and Communications for the term 2020-2025.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung is a former student of the bridge and road construction major at the University of Transport and Communications, and holds a Master's degree in weak soil engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. In 2005, he earned his PhD in road engineering from the Moscow Road University.
He has held various positions including deputy head of external relations, head of external relations - science and technology, deputy director of the branch campus, and deputy principal and director of the branch campus of the school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Minh Son, Deputy Minister of Education and Training , said that science and technology and international integration have made strong progress, and along with the changing global political situation, require relevant parties to take flexible and appropriate steps.
According to the Deputy Minister, the University of Transport needs to take the lead in training and scientific research, preparing high-quality human resources, and mastering technology to serve the country's major development programs and plans in the era of national progress.

"As a manager and source of inspiration, the principal not only decides on the methods and approaches to directing and organizing the implementation of tasks and building an advanced academic environment, but also acts as a driving force to promote innovation and improve the quality of training and scientific research," Mr. Son said.
