On the afternoon of September 23, the provincial working delegation led by Comrade Vi Manh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department inspected flood and storm prevention work, visited and encouraged people and presented 1 billion VND to support the people of Tan Son district to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.
The impact of storm No. 3 caused heavy rain and thunderstorms, many areas of Tan Son district were flooded, inundated, and landslides, causing damage to infrastructure and production estimated at nearly 14 billion VND.
At the program, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department and representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented 1 billion VND from the Phu Tho Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee to support the people of Tan Son district to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3.
The delegation visited and inspected the actual situation in Nhang hamlet, Kim Thuong commune. Due to the impact of storms in 2018 and the recent storm No. 3, a part of the hill in Nhang hill area was cracked, with a high risk of landslides, affecting 63 households living there. In order to provide stable housing for households at risk of landslides, the Provincial People's Committee has decided to build a resettlement area on an area of nearly 5 hectares in Nhang hamlet, Kim Thuong commune. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in November 2024.
After inspecting the site and listening to the leaders of Tan Son district report on the damage situation, the leadership in response and overcoming the consequences caused by storm No. 3, comrade Vi Manh Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness and determination in directing the response and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, ensuring human safety and minimizing property damage.
He suggested that Tan Son district continue to pay attention to households at risk of landslides, and do a good job of propaganda and mobilization. Review landslide sites, traffic works, especially underground and spillway sites that are not safe during the rainy and stormy season, promptly propose sources of public and medium-term investment capital in the coming time; continue to carry out the 4 on-site work well, promptly direct the damage recovery so that people can soon stabilize their lives.
Comrade Vi Manh Hung and the delegation visited, encouraged and presented 10 million VND to support the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Luong in Choc hamlet, My Thuan commune, whose relatives were missing victims in the Phong Chau bridge collapse.
After receiving the support fund, Tan Son district needs to use it effectively and allocate it promptly to help affected households overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
