Previously, Miss Cosmos International Inc. - a beauty pageant organizer in the US - sent an email to press agencies informing them that the Miss Cosmo pageant founded by Unimedia had a name similar to their Miss Cosmos International .
The unit said that Unimedia's actions "disturbed and tarnished the international beauty pageant industry, while deceiving the public and usurping the reputation of the Miss Cosmos International contest".

"From the discussions on social media, it seems we are being dragged into a copyright story unnecessarily.
Miss Cosmo and Miss Cosmos International are two completely different names. We have no intention of copying the international pageant, like other pageants have done."
"We put a lot of effort and investment into creating our brand. Without that effort, we would not have the recognition of more than 70 countries and territories sending contestants to Miss Cosmo.
Our motto is to always avoid unnecessary noise, we want to focus on organizing the best competition" - Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang added.

Miss Cosmo 2024 has only one runner-up
Miss Cosmo 2024 has more than 70 beauties from countries and territories around the world participating. The Miss Cosmo 2024 organizing committee said it will award 1 beauty queen, 1 runner-up and 6 secondary awards.
This contest was founded by Unimedia and will be held for the first time in 2024 in Vietnam.
With the message "Beauty enhances influence", Miss Cosmo 2024 seeks and honors beauties with beauty, intelligence, courage, positive influence, and inspiration to the community.
The highlight is a series of festive activities combining fashion and cultural heritage stretching from North to South.
Accordingly, the activities Cosmo Hello From Vietnam (showcasing Vietnamese traditional cultural costumes), Best Of Vietnam Festival (experiencing festivals in three regions), Best Of The World Festival (experiencing art forms, music, and cuisine from all continents) will take place in Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Bao Loc - Da Lat (Lam Dong), Long An and Ho Chi Minh City.
