The "Southeast Asian All-Stars" team will have a friendly match with Manchester United on May 28 in Malaysia. Do Duy Manh is a "steel" center back of the Vietnam national team as well as Hanoi FC. Being included in the ASEAN All-Stars squad for a friendly match against Manchester United, the Vietnamese player hopes to show his class to prove that Southeast Asian football is no longer a "lowland".
"Being selected for the ASEAN All-Stars squad to play against Manchester United will be a memorable moment in my career. This is a great pride, especially when Vietnam only has 3 players participating. I am very excited to compete with players from the world's top clubs, but I am also aware of my responsibility to contribute to raising the level of Southeast Asian football. I hope this match will help international fans have a more positive view of regional football" - Do Duy Manh shared.
Duy Manh is a "steel" central defender of the Vietnam national team and Hanoi Club.
Despite being the host country, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) confirmed that it will not include two pillars of the national team, Dominic Tan and Sergio Aguero, in the ASEAN All-Stars squad for the friendly match against Manchester United.
This move is to preserve the Malaysian team's strength to prepare for the match against Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers taking place on June 10 at Bukit Jalil Stadium.
