To kick off the campaign, Bao Thang District Medical Center coordinated with Thai Nien Commune Health Station to organize communication, take blood samples to test for malaria parasites, and provide health examinations and consultations for people in Khe Den 2 village.

At the communication session, medical staff informed people about malaria, its symptoms, effects and prevention methods. Accordingly, medical staff encouraged people to actively clean the environment, clear bushes, unclog drains, and clean their houses to limit mosquitoes from breeding and staying indoors; prevent mosquito bites by sleeping under mosquito nets even during the day, wearing long clothes when going to the forest, and applying mosquito repellent to exposed skin areas.

Staff of Bao Thang District Medical Center took blood samples to test for malaria parasites from 44 people, the results of 44 samples were negative, and at the same time, examined and provided health consultation to more than 60 people.
Communication activities will be coordinated by Bao Thang District Medical Center with health stations in communes to raise people's awareness of malaria prevention and control, contributing to protecting the achievements of malaria elimination in the province.

There is currently no vaccine to prevent malaria, so the most effective way to prevent the disease is to prevent the mosquitoes that transmit the disease. If people with malaria are detected early and treated, the disease will be cured. On the contrary, if detected late and treated with the wrong medicine, the disease will progress severely, causing many complications and possibly leading to death.
When people see symptoms of malaria such as: headache, fatigue, muscle pain, digestive disorders, chills, fever followed by sweating or feeling cold, chills, the patient needs to go immediately to the nearest medical facility for timely diagnosis and treatment.
