(CLO) In his New Year message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed that the two countries will continue to develop strongly in the direction of cooperation, avoiding confrontation.
In his New Year message to Mr. Putin, Mr. Xi Jinping said: "China and Russia always move forward together, following the right path, not forming alliances, not confronting and not acting against third parties."
In the message, Xi Jinping also expressed satisfaction with the strategic partnership between China and Russia, and affirmed that cooperation on important international issues will continue to develop.

The solid political trust and strategic coordination between the two countries have been enhanced many times under the guidance of the leaders of both sides.
In May, China and Russia jointly signed an agreement on a new-era strategic partnership, pledging to strengthen cooperation in key areas.
According to RIA, the Russian Ambassador to China said that President Xi Jinping is expected to visit Russia in 2025. After this visit, China and Russia will continue to develop cooperation in many fields, opening up new development opportunities for both countries.
Earlier in his 2023 visit, Xi Jinping was warmly welcomed at the Kremlin as a "close friend" of Russia, a clear sign of the strong development of China-Russia relations in the coming time.
