General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed that China always remembers the great contributions of Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong in promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
On the afternoon of July 20, in Beijing, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China, Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China Xi Jinping visited the Vietnamese Embassy in China to pay his respects, express his deepest condolences and sign the condolence book on the passing of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Also attending were Comrade Cai Qi, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat, Director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee; Comrade Wang Yi, member of the Politburo, Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China; Comrade Liu Jianchao, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, and leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Foreign Affairs Department of the Central Committee of China.
Previously, on July 19, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China sent a message of condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Speaking to Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping affirmed that Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong is a staunch Marxist and a great leader of the Party and people of Vietnam.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong devoted his whole life to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, leading the Party, State and people of Vietnam to promote and achieve great achievements in the cause of building socialism, receiving the support and love of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people of Vietnam.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China firmly supports the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam to unite and lead the Vietnamese people firmly on their development path. The Party, State and people of China consistently support and believe that Vietnam's cause of reform and socialist construction will achieve even greater achievements; and are willing to work with Vietnam to promote the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Community of Shared Future, which has strategic significance, to become increasingly deeper and more substantial.
Ambassador Pham Sao Mai expressed his gratitude to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping for visiting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and offering condolences to the Party, State and people of Vietnam; and thanked the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for promptly sending a message of condolences to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, demonstrating the special respect of the Party, State and people of China and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping personally for the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China as well as the special affection of Comrade Xi Jinping for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The Ambassador emphasized that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great intellectual and talent of the Vietnamese revolution; an ideologist, a culturalist, a theoretician of the Communist Party of Vietnam; an excellent student who constantly studied and followed the ideology, morality and style of the great President Ho Chi Minh, who devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people, living his whole life for the country and the people; the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great loss and infinite sorrow for the Party, State and people of Vietnam.
During his lifetime, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong devoted much love and enthusiasm and made many important contributions to the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries of Vietnam and China.
Under the direct attention and guidance of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary Xi Jinping, the relationship between the two Parties and countries over the past 10 years has made remarkable progress, becoming a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, receiving the support of the people of the two countries.
The Ambassador affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always consider developing relations with the Party, State and people of China as a top priority and a strategic choice, expressing that he will continue to work with the Chinese side to thoroughly implement the common perception of the two General Secretaries, and is ready to work with the Party, State and people of China to continue to develop the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in a healthy, stable and sustainable manner in the direction of "6 more", and together build a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
On the same day, Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Wang Huning, and members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, and Li Xi sent wreaths.
The Central Committee, the State Council, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China, a number of central agencies and organizations and Beijing city also sent wreaths to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong./.
