At the meeting, the two sides expressed their joy and appreciation for the positive developments in the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in recent times, especially since the historic official visit to China by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the end of October 2022.

High-level and all-level exchanges and contacts have taken place vigorously, achieving many important new results; political trust has been enhanced, economic and trade cooperation has been promoted, and Chinese investment in Vietnam has reached a new high.

The two sides discussed specific measures to implement the agreements of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, continuing to promote and deepen the friendship and cooperation in all fields.

President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that Vietnam and China are close neighbors, with similarities in political institutions, development paths and the goal of building socialism. The Party, State and people of Vietnam attach importance to consolidating and developing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China, considering this a strategic choice and top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification.

The President suggested that the two sides continue to closely coordinate in the coming time, prepare well for high-level delegation exchanges; strengthen cooperation between ministries, departments, sectors and localities of the two countries; promote substantive cooperation in all fields, and maintain good development momentum in economic and trade cooperation.

At the same time, it is recommended that China continue to facilitate the expansion of imports of Vietnamese agricultural products, increase investment in Vietnam with large projects that represent China's development level; strengthen cooperation in connecting road and railway infrastructure, promote digital economic cooperation, and improve the capacity to develop digital infrastructure and digital human resources.

Based on the high-level common perception, the President suggested that the two sides control and satisfactorily resolve disagreements and existing issues in bilateral relations in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

Member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Chief of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Cai Qi affirmed that Vietnam and China are important neighbors and share broad common interests. China always considers Vietnam a priority in its neighborly diplomacy and is willing to work with Vietnam to strengthen strategic exchanges, promote and guide the relationship between the two Parties and countries to continuously develop sustainably and long-term.

Mr. Thai Ky agreed to promote the expansion of economic and trade cooperation, transport infrastructure connection, cooperation in the digital economy; encourage Chinese enterprises to continue expanding investment in Vietnam; improve the frequency and quality of cooperation between localities; and actively contribute to the development of the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
