China supports Vietnam in building railway lines connecting the two countries.

Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh signed seven important documents in the fields of railways and roads with Chinese partners.

According to information from the Ministry of Construction , during the visit to Vietnam of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, with the agreement of competent authorities, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh signed 7 important documents in the field of railways and roads with Chinese partners. Among them, 2 documents are international treaties at the Government level, 2 agreements on ODA capital between the two governments and 3 agreements at the ministerial level.

In the railway sector, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh signed 4 documents including:

The Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Construction and the National Development and Reform Commission of China on the establishment of the Vietnam-China Railway Joint Cooperation Committee speeds up the project implementation progress.

Minutes of the meeting between the Ministry of Construction and the China National Administration of International Development Cooperation (CIDCA) on field survey to provide technical support for the preparation of a feasibility study report for the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line in Vietnam.

Exchange of letters on China's technical support for planning the Dong Dang - Hanoi and Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong standard gauge railway lines.

Exchange of letters on China's technical support for the preparation of a Feasibility Study Report for the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong standard gauge railway.

According to the leader of the Ministry of Construction, these railway documents play a huge role in speeding up the preparation of railway projects connecting Vietnam and China.

In particular, on this occasion, the Ministry of Construction actively urged the Chinese side to unify, complete procedures and sign an Exchange of Letters on China's technical support for the preparation of a Feasibility Study Report for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Standard Gauge Railway Investment Project. This is a very important document, creating a basis for relevant agencies of the two countries to coordinate to promote internal procedures to soon start the project.

In the road sector, Minister Tran Hong Minh signed three documents, including: Agreement between the two governments on joint construction of cross-border traffic works in the Thanh Thuy international border gate area, Vietnam - Thien Bao, China.

Protocol between the two Governments on simplifying import and export procedures through Thanh Thuy international border gate, Vietnam - Thien Bao, China for employees, means of transport, construction equipment and construction materials to jointly construct cross-border traffic works in the Thanh Thuy international border gate area, Vietnam - Thien Bao, China.

Memorandum of Understanding on Road Engineering Cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Transport of China.

The two signed documents on the construction of cross-border traffic works will create an important legal basis for the two provinces of Ha Giang of Vietnam and Yunnan of China to invest in the construction of cross-border traffic works in the Thanh Thuy international border gate area, Vietnam - Thien Bao, China, contributing to promoting trade of goods and meeting the increasing travel needs of the people of the two provinces of Ha Giang, Yunnan in particular and the two countries of Vietnam and China in general through the Thanh Thuy - Thien Bao international border gate pair.
