Trung Chinh - a bright spot in building grassroots cultural life

Dong Cao village is one of the leading units in establishing village art and sports teams so that people have the opportunity to participate in training. Thanks to that, the cultural life of the villagers has been improved, contributing to maintaining the title of a cultural unit, free of social evils and domestic violence. Mr. Le Phi Hung, head of Dong Cao village, said: "On holidays and Tet, the village often organizes art and sports activities to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere, thereby attracting a large number of villagers to participate."

Not only Dong Cao village but also other villages in Trung Chinh commune have focused on implementing the movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life. Up to now, the effectiveness of the movement has impacted the material and spiritual life of local people. In order for the movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life to spread widely, the commune has always closely followed the contents of the movement. From there, it has paid attention to leading, directing and proposing plans and solutions to promote the development of the movement of physical training and sports for building cultural life. During the implementation process, the commune has always identified propaganda work as the top priority task and has been deployed regularly and continuously, aiming to raise awareness and actions of people in improving the quality of cultural activities in the locality. The commune has promoted propaganda in many forms, such as: oral propaganda, through the grassroots radio system, billboards, posters, legal knowledge contests; through cultural and artistic exchanges, village meetings, activities of branches... Thanks to that, people in the commune always proactively participate in cultural and sports activities, build cultural families, and preserve local cultural values.

Identifying that cultural and sports activities play an important role in improving the quality of grassroots cultural life, the commune has regularly organized cultural - artistic and sports exchange competitions/programs every year to create playgrounds for people. The commune also encourages and guides villages to organize cultural and sports activities; establish models of art and sports clubs/teams. Up to now, each village has 1 to 2 art and sports teams, attracting a large number of people to participate. Typically, Dong Cao village has 4 sports teams, Bi Kieu village has 5 sports teams.

Trung Chinh commune also pays attention to investing in building a system of cultural and sports facilities. Up to now, at the commune level, a standard cultural center has been built, including: a cultural hall with full facilities; 1 football field, 2 volleyball courts; a standard stadium with an area of ​​about 6,000m2, ensuring conditions for organizing local activities. At the village level, 100% have cultural houses and basic sports areas to meet the entertainment, cultural and sports needs of the people.

Along with focusing on developing cultural and sports activities, the commune has focused on building a cultural environment right from within the family, promoting the role of the family in building human personality. The commune has actively promoted and widely disseminated among the people the criteria for recognizing cultural families and the set of behavioral criteria in Vietnamese families. The content of the movement to build cultural families is associated with the movements: "Building a prosperous, equal, progressive, happy family", "Family of 5 no, 3 clean"... The criteria for building cultural families are included in the village covenants for people to strictly implement, contributing to the rate of cultural families in the commune always reaching a high rate, reaching 92% in 2024.

Along with that, the relics and communal houses in the commune are all managed, preserved and promoted by the local government and people. Traditional festivals, traditional rituals, and folk games are all preserved and organized annually with the enthusiastic participation of the people. This has contributed to building Trung Chinh into a locality imbued with national cultural identity.
