During the resistance war against the US to save the country, the history of the Vietnamese revolution marked a period of fierce but tenacious struggle of our army and people on all three fronts: politics , military and diplomacy, from after the implementation of the Paris Agreement in 1973 to the Great Victory in Spring 1975. After nearly 5 years of negotiations (from May 13, 1968 to January 27, 1973), with more than 201 public meetings, 45 private (secret) meetings, 500 press conferences and 1,000 interviews, the Paris Agreement on ending the war and restoring peace in Vietnam was officially signed.

The results of the Conference were the pinnacle of the Vietnamese diplomatic front during the resistance war against the US to save the country, demonstrating an important, active and proactive role in close coordination with the military and political fronts, on the basis of upholding the principles of peace, independence, self-reliance, combining national strength with the united support of the people of the world, creating favorable conditions to liberate the South, unify the country, and bring true peace to Vietnam.
