Mr Trump posted on his Truth Social platform that he and his Democratic opponent had agreed that the ABC debate would follow the same rules as the CNN debate on June 27, with no audience in the studio and each candidate's microphone muted while the other was speaking.

Mr Trump called ABC "the most nasty and unfair news show", but said the network had assured him the debate in Philadelphia would be "fair and equal".
However, Ms Harris's campaign - who have pushed for a debate with open microphones throughout - has accused Mr Trump of changing the terms and it is unclear whether they will accept those terms.
Mr Trump had previously been hesitant to participate in the debate, shortly after Harris emerged as the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden withdrew following a poor performance in the CNN debate.
Ms Harris's campaign said Mr Trump's team wanted to mute the microphone to help him stay calm when he was not speaking, because "they didn't think their candidate could behave properly for 90 minutes".
Mr Trump also added that Harris had declined a September 4 debate on Fox News, but he was open to participating if Ms Harris "changed her mind".
