In the Southeast region, pepper prices today fluctuated compared to yesterday. Specifically, in Binh Phuoc, pepper prices today are at 139,000 VND/kg, down 500 VND/kg. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it is currently at 140,000 VND/kg.
Thus, domestic pepper prices today remain stable in key growing areas. The highest pepper price is at 141,200 VND/kg.
Commenting on the market this week, experts said it is still around the 140,000 VND mark as there are no additional factors supporting the upward trend. The cash flow is shifting to coffee and the increased stockpiling by farmers from the last crop has caused the market to have few transactions.
In recent years, farmers have focused on capturing market information and changing the way they sell, building warehouses to store pepper at home and only selling when they need money.
World pepper price today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,557 USD/ton, down 2.27%, and the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,177 USD/ton, down 0.03%.
The price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper was at USD 6,000/ton, down 5.00%. The price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper was at USD 8,500/ton; the price of this country's ASTA white pepper reached USD 11,000/ton.
Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper dropped sharply to 6,200 USD/ton for 500 g/l, down 4.84%; 550 g/l at 6,500 USD/ton, down 4.62%; white pepper price at 9,400 USD/ton, down 1.06%.
Thus, today the pepper export market fluctuated strongly and decreased in many countries. The international community adjusted down the export price of black pepper in many countries.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), in October, Brazil's pepper exports reached 6,462 tons, up 7.1% over the previous month and the highest export month since the beginning of the year.
However, by the end of October, Brazil's total pepper exports reached 52,988 tons, down 19.3% compared to the same period in 2023 and down 23.9% compared to 2022.
However, export turnover still reached 229.8 million USD, up 40.7% over the same period in 2023 and up 15.3% over the same period in 2022.
In the first 10 months of the year, the UAE emerged as the main export market for Brazilian pepper, reaching 7,174 tons, up 16.9% over the same period and accounting for 13.5% of the market share.
In contrast, Brazil's pepper exports to Vietnam decreased by 49.2% to 6,979 tons, accounting for 13.2% of the market share. The next major export markets include: Pakistan: 5,923 tons, India: 5,562 tons and Senegal: 4,901 tons.
