Coffee purchasing activities in Vietnam are expected to become more active as export businesses step up procurement to fulfill early-year orders. However, domestic supply is being disrupted due to the extended Lunar New Year holiday, creating challenges for both farmers and businesses.
Against this backdrop, global price trends are moving in opposite directions, but Arabica coffee prices continue to rise. Demand from major markets such as the US, EU, and Asia remains high, creating opportunities for export businesses.
The weather in the Central Highlands is currently in the dry season, with above-average temperatures and low rainfall. This could continue to impact coffee bean quality, reducing yields and driving up prices. Experts recommend that farmers increase investment in coffee bean quality, aiming to meet international standards. Closely monitoring market developments is essential to make informed sales decisions and avoid unnecessary losses.
For export businesses, taking advantage of high prices to increase export value is crucial. Additionally, expanding markets through free trade agreements (FTAs) will also enhance competitiveness. Investing in deeply processed products not only increases value but also minimizes the impact of price fluctuations in the international market.
With the current challenges and opportunities, the Vietnamese coffee market is undergoing a transformation, promising many developments in the coming period.
