The Provincial People's Committee has approved Decision No. 1114 and Decision No. 1115 on planting scattered trees along national and provincial highways in Bao Yen and Simacai districts.
According to the approved Plan, the two districts will plant 38,600 scattered trees along 193 km of road. In Bao Yen district, 23,600 new scattered trees will be planted, equivalent to 118 km on National Highway 70, Provincial Road 160, district roads and inter-village roads. Along National Highway 70, 6,000 trees will be planted (30 km of road) and on Provincial Road 160, 1,000 new trees will be planted (5 km of road) with the following species: lat hoa, trumpet hong, phong linh. On the district roads to the communes, 2,600 new lat hoa, giổi, trumpet hong trees will be planted (13 km of road); 14,000 new lat hoa, giổi, xoan, trầu trees... will be planted (13 km of road) on inter-village roads.
Simacai district planted 15,000 new scattered trees, equivalent to 75 km on district, inter-commune and inter-village roads. Of which, on district and inter-commune roads, 9,700 new trees were planted (50 km), planting species of lat hoa, phong linh, trumpet vine, red maple, trau, and rice; on inter-village roads, 5,300 new lat hoa, trau, and rice trees were planted (25 km).
Plant trees in rows or multiple rows to suit the space, planning and existing land fund of each area, each location of the route and ensure current regulations, ensuring safety of road traffic corridors. After planting, the rows of trees have a plan for care, protection, management, and assign specific responsibilities to organizations, individuals and households.
Planting trees will help form a system of green trees along roadsides and landscape trees along traffic routes in the district; regulate the climate in the area; reduce noise, help clean the air, reduce toxic environments, and prevent pollution; contribute to protecting traffic works and creating green - clean - beautiful landscapes on roads as well as in tourist areas and historical sites, promote economic development of tourism, and create jobs for local people.
