10,500 drones display, fireworks display at 30 locations in Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of April 30

Regarding information on activities in response to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), at a meeting to provide information on socio-economic issues in the area organized by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, on the afternoon of April 17, Mr. Nguyen Tan Kiet, Head of the Art Department (Department of Culture and Sports of the City) said that the City is urgently preparing for a series of large-scale art events called "Colors of Uncle Ho's City."

The highlight of the show is the display of 10,500 drones, with the expectation of setting a record for the number of drones controlled simultaneously.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Kiet, at 8:45 p.m., 10,500 drones will fly up simultaneously, creating a unique light show, opening the visual feast.

Immediately after that, at 9 p.m., a 15-minute fireworks display will take place at 30 locations across the city. It is expected that on the evening of April 30, the sky of Ho Chi Minh City will light up in a brilliant festive atmosphere.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City also organized a 3D Mapping art program from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on April 19, 26, 29 and 30 at the front of the People's Council and People's Committee headquarters of Ho Chi Minh City (District 1).

The performance format is a 3D Mapping art projection combining music, light and performance art with participating countries: France, Singapore, Belgium, Vietnam. The event is expected to attract about 10,000 live audiences at the locations, along with millions of viewers via TV channels, livestreams and online platforms.

The series of activities "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" lasts from April 19 to the end of May, taking place at central locations such as the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Nguyen Hue walking street, City Theater, Bach Dang Wharf Park... and many canals through inner-city districts.

Residents and tourists will enjoy a series of unique art programs such as outdoor symphony, folk music and dance, amateur music performances and a vibrant river festival with flower lantern boats, flyboards, jet skiing, paragliding, paddle boarding...

In particular, on the evening of April 30, there will be a folk dance performance with the checkered scarf, a symbol of Southern culture, with the participation of locals and actors, creating a close-knit festival space that connects the community.

Along with the above series of activities, Ho Chi Minh City organized many special activities such as: Exhibition and film screening program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; Ceremony to honor 50 outstanding individuals in the cause of building, protecting and developing Ho Chi Minh City; Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025; Installation art exhibition with the theme "From Bach Dang Victory to the Great Victory of April 30, 1975".../.
