MANILA TIMES. In his state of the nation address, Philippine President Ferdinand Marocs Jr. highlighted the administration's achievements over the past year, including efforts to combat inflation and bring the economy back to growth.
Xinhua News Agency. The Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) announced that it will issue new banknotes with a face value of 20,000 Kyat (equivalent to about 9.52 USD) on July 31.
ANTARA. Indonesia's Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry (KKP) will receive another ship from Japan to improve its monitoring of the country's marine resources in the North Natuna Sea located on the southern edge of the South China Sea.
YONHAP. South Korean military sources said Pyongyang fired a ballistic missile into the sea off the east coast of North Korea.
KCNA. A Chinese delegation will visit North Korea on July 27 to attend events marking the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice Agreement that ended the 1950-1953 Korean War.
YONHAP. A US nuclear-powered submarine arrived in South Korea for resupply purposes, just days after another US strategic submarine left South Korea following a port visit.

TIMES OF ISRAEL. After the Israeli parliament passed a key provision in the draft judicial reform plan with 64 votes in favor while the opposition walked out, people took to the streets to protest and clashed violently with the police force.

TASS. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law a law stipulating fines of up to 300 thousand rubles for those who do not comply with orders or warnings of the Russian Ministry of Justice to eliminate violations of the Law on Foreign Agents.
AFP. The European Commission (EC) has approved a program worth about 47 million euros to support agricultural production in Poland amid Russia's conflict with Ukraine.
FRANCE 24. The European police agency (Europol) and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) said that law enforcement forces from five countries have broken up an intercontinental criminal network bringing migrants from Cuba to the EU, arresting 62 people.
REUTERS. Norway's Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development said 12 government ministries have been hit by cyber attacks, and police are investigating the attacks.
BBC. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has pledged to deliver on his promise to build 1 million homes before the next general election, tackling a housing shortage that has seen support among some young voters plummet.
REUTERS. The NATO-Ukraine Council will meet on July 26 to address the Black Sea security issue, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
America
CNN. The government will provide up to $700 million in funding to monitor and reduce methane emissions from the oil and gas industry, with half of the funding going to states.
YONHAP. Multinational automobile manufacturing corporation Stellantis and Samsung SDI (South Korea) said they plan to build a second electric car battery factory in the US.
REUTERS. Mr. Agustin Intriago, Mayor of the port city of Manta, Ecuador, was assassinated while inspecting public works in the city. The cause of the incident is currently unknown.
Africa
AFP. Senegalese officials say at least 14 people, most likely migrants, have died in a boat capsizing off the capital Dakar.
AL ARABIYA. Algeria's Interior Ministry said a forest fire on July 24 killed 15 people in the Bejaia and Bouira mountains, amid a heatwave that is spreading across North Africa and Southern Europe.
AFRICA NEWS. At least 13 soldiers were killed and 20 others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the Jale Siyaad military academy in Somalia's capital Mogadishu on July 24.
Oceania
CNN. New Zealand's Justice Minister Kiri Allan resigned after being arrested by police in connection with a car crash that occurred a day earlier.

ABC. Australia's Defense Department says the country will spend 9.8 billion AUD ($6.6 billion) to buy 20 Super Hercules military transport aircraft from the US.
SYDNEY MORNING HERALD. Sydney's inner city, once the epicentre of Australia's HIV epidemic, could become the first place in the world to achieve the United Nations' goal of ending HIV transmission.
