Summoned 2 men who beat up truck driver in Binh Phuoc

Believing that a truck was overtaking recklessly on the road in Binh Phuoc, two men in a pickup truck beat the driver right on the steering wheel, causing public outrage.

Today (December 17), the Traffic Police Department of Binh Phuoc Province Police said that this unit is coordinating with Dong Xoai City Police to investigate and clarify the case of a driver being assaulted while participating in traffic on the road.

Along with that, the authorities also identified the two men who beat the driver and summoned them for questioning.

Previously, a clip appeared on social media recording the scene of a truck driver being attacked by two men; this clip was quickly shared, causing outrage among many people.

According to the clip, on the afternoon of December 15, a truck driver was driving on Highway 741 through Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc Province, with a woman and a child in the cabin.

When the car stopped at a red light, a pickup truck drove up alongside. Two men then got out and opened the truck door, punching the driver right on the steering wheel. One man then climbed into the cabin and punched the driver repeatedly in the head and face, in front of a woman and children.

According to the truck driver, he had seen the pickup truck in front of him brake, so he turned left to continue driving. However, while he was stopped at a red light, two men assaulted him because they thought he was overtaking.

Regarding this incident, the Director of Binh Phuoc Provincial Police also issued an official dispatch directing professional units and localities to urgently inspect and verify to clarify. After having the results of verification, evaluating the information, documents and behavior of each subject, advising on handling according to regulations before December 25.

According to the leader of the Traffic Police Department, the authorities will strictly handle the case according to the provisions of the law. If the actions of the subjects are sufficient to constitute a crime, the case will be prosecuted and the accused will be prosecuted.
