(HNMO) - On May 12, Hai Ba Trung District Police (Hanoi) informed about a special investigation project, discovering a drug trafficking and illegal storage ring, seizing 14 heroin cakes and more than 1kg of synthetic drugs; at the same time, arresting 5 subjects related to the case.
Previously, at around 0:45 a.m. on March 27, at the intersection of Thanh Nhan - Kim Nguu streets, Thanh Nhan ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi, a working group of Hai Ba Trung district police inspected Phan Thu Hoai (born in 1990; residing in Vinhomes Ocean Park urban area, Gia Lam district, Hanoi), discovered and seized a cardboard box containing 891.16 grams of ketamine. At the police headquarters, Hoai confessed that he bought the drugs with the intention of reselling them for profit.
Expanding the investigation, Hai Ba Trung District Police arrested 4 more suspects: Tran Van Huy (born in 1987), Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen (born in 1989), Tran Thi Chien (born in 1991), all living in Bach Mai Ward, Hai Ba Trung District (Hanoi); Do Duy Phong (born in 1987, living in Quynh Loi Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi). The total amount of evidence seized in the case was 14 heroin cakes, weighing 4.576 kg; 69.356 grams of MDMA; 119.137 grams of Methamphetamine; 1.034 kg of ketamine.
Based on the investigation documents, the Investigation Police Agency, Hai Ba Trung District Police have issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Phan Thu Hoai, Tran Van Huy, Nguyen Thi Thanh Huyen for the crime of "Illegal trading of narcotics"; Tran Thi Chien for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics"; Do Duy Phong for the crime of "Illegal possession and trading of narcotics".
Currently, Hai Ba Trung District Police are consolidating records and handling the subjects according to regulations.
