On the afternoon of April 16, the Da Nang Fine Arts Association and the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum held the opening ceremony of an art exhibition with the theme April Sunshine .

This is the first art exhibition organized by the Da Nang Fine Arts Association with part of the funding being socialized through sponsorship to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

The April Sunshine exhibition lasts until May 16 with 43 works by 37 authors.

The works focus on expressing perspectives and feelings about homeland, country, people, natural landscapes... presented using many different materials, colors, and shapes.

Mr. Than Trong Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Fine Arts Association, said this is also an opportunity to recognize the positive contributions of painters and sculptors to the Da Nang fine arts sector in the past year.

Mr. Dung said that the 43 works were carefully and diversely selected from many generations, young artists, mature artists with many schools of art such as realism, impressionism, surrealism, abstraction...

"Da Nang has many artists who have achieved certain success in the flow of many integrated art trends. It is valuable that they still retain the beauty from real life and national culture and traditions.

We extend the introduction time so that art lovers can discover new works of the city's art," said Mr. Dung.

Notably, among the 43 works, there are three paintings and sculptures by author Dinh Gia Thang, author of the monument cluster of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Quang Nam.

Among the three works that Mr. Thang is most fond of is the sculpture "The Source of Happiness" which carries the message of love between couples, attached to the love of homeland and country, always looking back to one's roots as the children of Hong and the grandchildren of Lac.

"Through my work, I want to remind generations to always be aware of their roots, which are also the source of happiness for them" - Mr. Thang said.
