Deploying tasks of the Youth Union and youth movement in 2024

On the morning of January 10, the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of the province held a conference to review the work of the Youth Union, Association and youth and children's movements in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.

Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council attended and directed the conference. Also attending were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, the Provincial Party Committee Office, and representatives of a number of departments, branches, and organizations of the province.

In 2023, the work of the Youth Union, Association and youth and children's movements in the whole province continued to be implemented comprehensively and effectively, leaving many outstanding marks in all fields.

Notable results include: Youth in the whole province have carried out nearly 1,500 projects and works with a value of over 19 billion VND; built and repaired 32 projects to light up the countryside roads with a length of 41.5 km; built 16 Red Scarf houses and charity houses; planted and cared for 255,000 trees.

Donated more than 9,000 units of blood; gave nearly 7,000 gifts on the occasion of holidays and Tet to families with meritorious services and vulnerable groups in society; promoted and mobilized 1,300 union members and young people to join the army; recruited over 11,000 new union members; established 16 union and association organizations in non-state enterprises; introduced to the Party for consideration and recruited nearly 1,700 outstanding union members into the Communist Party of Vietnam...

The highlight of the Youth Union and Association's work in 2023 is the promotion of the application of information technology and digital transformation by promoting the core role of young people in participating in the Community Digital Technology Team; deploying the Youth Union Member Management software, implementing the project of digitizing information on historical sites, tourist attractions, community wifi points, digital libraries, etc. Thereby affirming the role of the province as a pioneer force in implementing digital transformation.

In 2024, with the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers", the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of the province set out 15 basic targets and 7 key tasks such as: focusing on implementing the Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 12th National Youth Union Congress, the Resolution of the 14th Ninh Binh Provincial Youth Union Congress, programs and projects in the Ninh Binh Provincial Youth Development Strategy for the period 2021-2030.

Implementing the "3 links" policy, enhancing the application of information technology and digital transformation in volunteer activities; developing start-up capacity for young people; improving digital capacity for young people and children; promoting propaganda work, organizing Congresses of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels...

Speaking at the conference, comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the results of the work of the Youth Union, Association and youth and children's movement in 2023.

To effectively carry out the tasks and targets of 2024, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that the Youth Union and Association at all levels focus on a number of contents such as: Based on the work program of the Central Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee to develop plans and action programs of the Youth Union and Association to ensure timeliness, feasibility and effectiveness; pioneer and proactively undertake new and difficult tasks such as site clearance and arrangement of administrative units at district and commune levels.

Youth Union and Association activities must actively contribute to socio-economic development, new rural construction, tourism development, digital transformation, ensuring national defense and security, building and protecting the Party and the political system of the province.

Focus on building, consolidating and improving the quality of Youth Union and Association organizations at all levels, especially at the grassroots level. Proactively review the Youth Union staff to prepare young human resources for Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term. Actively prepare conditions for organizing the Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels for the 2024-2029 term.

Continue to advise and coordinate the organization of youth volunteer activities for community life, participate in ensuring social security... In the immediate future, coordinate the organization of activities to visit and give gifts to families with meritorious services, poor families, families of union members, members, and children in especially difficult circumstances during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2024.

On this occasion, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee awarded the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee to Yen Khanh District Youth Union, Vietnam Youth Union of Kim Son District and the Provincial Youth and Children's Center for their outstanding achievements in implementing the province's emulation movements in 2023.
