Deploying enrollment work for grade 10 high school in the 2025-2026 school year in Dak Lak province

On April 23, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province held a conference to evaluate the enrollment work for grade 10 high school in the 2024-2025 school year and deploy the enrollment work for grade 10 high school in the 2025-2026 school year in Dak Lak province.

The report at the conference said that Dak Lak is a locality with a relatively large scale of schools, classes, and students (among the 10 largest provinces in the country), in which ethnic minority students account for more than 30%. From the 2015-2016 school year to the 2023-2024 school year, the province will organize admission by examination for specialized high schools and ethnic boarding high schools, and admission by selection for all public high schools. In the 2024-2025 school year, in addition to organizing admission by examination for specialized high schools and ethnic boarding high schools, the province will organize pilot admission exams for 9 more public high schools.

According to the Department of Education and Training, the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year was held safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations. The 2024-2025 school year is the year with a sharp increase in the number of junior high school graduates compared to previous school years with 31,944 students.

In addition to the achieved results, the enrollment work for grade 10 high school in the 2023-2024 school year still has some limitations and shortcomings such as: low exam results; the organization of teaching, testing, and evaluation of learning and training results of junior high school students in localities is not really effective; the quality of mass education at the public junior high school level in some localities is not high...

In the 2025-2026 school year, the entrance exam for grade 10 high school is expected to be held on June 5 - June 6, 2025 by the entrance exam method for all public high schools in the province with 3 subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language (English, French) and a specialized exam for candidates applying to Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted. Private high schools, Tay Nguyen Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities, Cao Nguyen Practice High School and Sports Training and Competition Center develop their own enrollment plans based on the enrollment plan of the Provincial People's Committee, and submit them to the Department of Education and Training for approval.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van emphasized that in order to prepare well for the 10th grade high school enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training urgently received comments and suggestions from units and localities, seriously learned from experience, and overcame shortcomings and limitations in the 10th grade enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year to effectively implement enrollment for the new school year.
