Deploying crime prevention and social evils and building a movement for the whole people to protect national security

In 2024, Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, departments, branches, organizations and especially the police force have made efforts and been active in preventing crimes, social evils and building a movement for the whole people to protect national security.

The whole province has investigated and handled 338 cases with 751 subjects violating social order, reaching an investigation rate of nearly 91.5%, exceeding the set target. Drug rehabilitation and post-rehabilitation management have received more attention. Prostitution has been controlled, preventing hot spots from arising. The movement of All People Protecting National Security continues to be promoted, the rate of localities and units meeting the "Safety in security and order" standard is over 90%. The whole province currently has 42 models with 972 points operating effectively in ensuring security and order; in particular, the "Security Key" model of Vinh Thai commune, Vinh Linh district has been recognized, highly appreciated and recommended for replication by the Ministry of Public Security.

In addition to the achieved results, the number of criminal cases increased by 10.5% compared to the previous year; economic crimes, corruption, and drug crimes became more complicated and serious.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam praised the efforts of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, departments, branches, organizations and especially the police force with its core and leading role in preventing crimes, social evils and building the movement of All people protecting national security in recent times.

At the same time, it is recommended that all levels and sectors concentrate their forces, means, and measures to effectively implement Plan No. 36 dated February 19, 2025 of the Provincial Steering Committee 138. Tighten the management of drug addicts, drug users, people with mental illness; subjects related to weapons, explosives, etc.

Proactively classify and resolve long-standing social conflicts that have not been thoroughly resolved. Effectively implement the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control until 2030; proactively grasp the situation, launch a peak period of attacking and suppressing drug crimes in June 2025 as planned.

Strengthen HIV/AIDS prevention and control, strive to reduce the number of new infections and AIDS-related deaths, and end the epidemic by 2030. Continue to improve the quality of the National Movement for National Security Protection; review and replicate effective models, replacing poorly performing models. Strengthen cooperation and coordination in the fight against crime with Savannakhet and Salavan provinces (Laos), establish hotlines, and exchange information promptly, especially with transnational crimes involving foreign elements.

Thereby, contributing to maintaining national defense and security, promoting socio-economic development, bringing Quang Tri and the whole country into a new era - the era of national growth.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 7 collectives and 8 individuals; the Ministry of Public Security awarded certificates of merit to 10 collectives in Quang Tri province with outstanding achievements in the movement of All people protecting national security in 2024.
