Along with that, localities monitor, detect early, and thoroughly handle outbreaks of infectious diseases occurring during and after floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides such as: diarrhea, pink eye, respiratory tract infections, athlete's foot, flu, dengue fever, especially need to be on guard against diseases transmitted through the digestive tract such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid...
On the other hand, ensure adequate reserves and supply of clean water in affected areas; strengthen inspection and supervision of the quality of clean water used for domestic purposes; provide adequate chemicals and disinfectants, etc.
Localities and units provide guidance on measures to treat water during floods and inundation; environmental sanitation after floods and inundation, following the principle of cleaning the environment as the water recedes; organizing the collection and disposal of animal carcasses to avoid the outbreak of infectious diseases; spraying chemicals to kill disease-carrying insects in high-risk areas.
In addition, ensure regular emergency medical examination and treatment inside and outside medical facilities, be ready to admit and provide emergency care to patients, and have response plans when epidemics occur in areas affected by floods.
In addition, units and localities shall disseminate and instruct people in areas affected by floods and inundation on the risk of epidemics and measures to prevent and control epidemics according to recommendations on prevention and control of common epidemics during floods and inundation. Measures to handle the environment and water in emergency situations to prevent and control epidemics when floods and inundation occur according to the instructions of health agencies.
