(Baoquangngai.vn)- On March 25 (February 16 of the lunar calendar), the An Hai Village Communal House Festival Committee (Ly Son) held a ceremony to honor and commemorate the Hoang Sa soldiers in the Hoang Sa Bac Hai Heroic Army who had the merit of going to the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos to plant markers affirming Vietnam's sovereignty.

The Hoang Sa soldiers' memorial ceremony took place in a solemn and respectful atmosphere of the descendants of An Hai village in particular and the residents of Ly Son island in general with the Hoang Sa soldiers in the Hoang Sa Bac Hai team with many important rituals.

“Hoang Sa has vast sky and water/People go but never return/Hoang Sa has clouds and water all around/February yearns for the soldiers of Hoang Sa”.
That folk song always echoes in the hearts of generations of Ly Son people, proving that, despite knowing that "there is no return", the children of Ly Son island still sail out to sea, carrying the mission given by the king to plant an eternal marker of Vietnam's sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

“The An Hai Communal House Festival Committee organizes the annual Hoang Sa Soldiers' Communal House Festival to affirm Vietnam's inviolable sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos. The ceremony also educates the patriotic tradition for today's and tomorrow's descendants to continue to preserve Vietnam's sovereignty over the sea and islands,” said Truong Van Diet, Head of the An Hai Communal House Festival Committee.
After the ceremony of Chanh Te Khao Le The Linh Hoang Sa, the shaman performed the rituals to place the souls of the Hoang Sa soldiers before releasing the boat to sea. This is a ritual imbued with the humanity of the Ly Son people - offering sacrifices to the living to pray for peace for the Hoang Sa soldiers before they leave for their missions.

At the end of the ceremony, the sound of the conch shell was blown in deep and solemn tones, signaling the young men of the village to take fishing boats to the Hoang Sa archipelago. The path that more than 400 years ago, our ancestors from Ly Son island crossed the ocean on simple fishing boats, accepting hardships and even sacrifices to stay in the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos in the struggle to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Vietnamese people.

The mission of preserving every inch of the Fatherland's sacred sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam is being continued by the descendants of the soldiers of Hoang Sa Bac Hai with economic voyages and to protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland. After the ceremony, the traditional boat racing festival of the Four Sacred Animals (Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix) took place.
