Over 26,000 people in border areas receive free health check-ups

At the end of the first phase from March 4 to 31, 26,049 people in border areas received health check-ups.

The Department of Health has coordinated with a number of units such as: People's Hospital 115, Military Hospital 175 (Ho Chi Minh City), Central Children's Hospital, Traditional Medicine Hospital (Ministry of Public Security)... to send over 287 doctors and physicians to participate. At the medical examinations, people were screened for endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, bone and joint, eye diseases, ultrasound, obstetrics, blood and urine tests... At the same time, it was integrated with communication on disease prevention, environmental sanitation, and chronic disease management. In the first phase, 12,074 people received ultrasound; 1,591 people had electrocardiograms, X-rays; 2,190 people had blood tests and other paraclinical services... People had their electronic health records updated; units gave gifts and free medicine to 2,495 people, with a total value of over 830 million VND.

Currently, 33/34 border communes in the province have resident doctors or doctors on rotation according to Project 1816, sending specialized staff on rotation from upper-level hospitals to support lower-level hospitals. At the end of the first phase, the number of people receiving medical examinations/total population in the border area reached 21.6%. In the coming time, the health sector and localities will continue to plan and open new examination sessions, striving to have 100% of people in border communes receive medical examinations by the end of September 2025.
