
This is a national commemorative program chaired by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and Hanoi City, directing the Army Radio and Television Center to implement.
The program was attended by Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense. Also attending were Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong.

“North-South Promise” is a place where memories cannot fade, where promises will forever echo. It is the promise of unity of the whole nation; the promise with the rear; the promise at the frontline and the international promise... The program is a journey back to history, to the promises that were written with the blood, tears and loyalty of millions of Vietnamese people.
The program recreated those promises through political and artistic language, combining historical documents, thematic reports, animations, music and modern performance technology, thereby paying tribute to the contributions of many generations who fell for the independence of the nation, reminding us of these promises, to affirm the steadfastness and courage of the entire Vietnamese people determined to realize the oath of the country.

With elaborate investment, the program brings a magnificent live stage of 2,700m2, divided into two staggered blocks representing the North - South, in the middle is the Hien Luong bridge spanning the Ben Hai river. The stage floor reaches a height of 5m, the highest point of the stage reaches 19m. To install the stage, 17,000 layer blocks were used.
The highlight of the program is the 3D mapping projection technology projected onto the water screen, which has never appeared in any program before. In addition, with soundscape surround sound creating a realistic feeling, combined with laser light, the program recreated beautiful, majestic images such as historical battles, troops marching across the river, the legendary Truong Son road scene, tanks speeding into the Independence Palace, boats cutting through the waves on the historic Ben Hai River, the joyful scene of the day the country was unified...

The audience witnessed tanks appearing in the program, along with rowing boats, Zin cars carrying troops... along with the image of the gate of peace opening to the future - all creating a vivid picture of the nation's 50-year journey. In particular, at the program, the audience was "satisfied" with enjoying a 15-minute artistic fireworks display.

The program gathered a large number of singers, artists, and actors, with 800 people participating. Many famous artists participated in the program such as Colonel, People's Artist Tu Long, Director of the Army Cheo Theater; Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung; singers Hoa Minzy, Do To Hoa; groups Oplus, Besinger, Soul House, Anh trai vu ngan cong gai...
Along with the song "North-South Promise" composed by musician Pham Hong Bien exclusively for the program, over 12,000 audiences were able to relive the heroic atmosphere of immortal songs and epics, combined with magnificent live performances such as: "Songs for Uncle Ho", "Night Stars", "Please Rest Assured, Mother", "Bring Meal to Plow Mother", "My Road Long Along the Country", "The Green Forest Echoes the Sound of Ta Lu"...

Interspersed in the program are reports with the sharing of historical witnesses, expressing the aspiration for national unification and the truth that "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one", affirming the steadfastness and courage of the entire Vietnamese nation determined to realize the oath of the country, as well as the efforts of today's generations to keep the country together, the North and the South united as one, firmly entering the era of national growth.
