Mr. Lam is a tree sawyer who unfortunately had an accident at work that resulted in a section of his intestine being severely crushed and torn. He needed surgery to remove the injured section of intestine for treatment. After the wound healed, he would have to undergo another surgery to put the intestine back into the abdomen. The hospital bill was also a large debt, and he and his wife had to borrow money from everywhere to pay it off.
His family situation is difficult, the family lives in a rented house, his wife is sick and cannot work, and has to take care of him and two young children. During the visit, Tay Ninh Newspaper reporters gave this money to Mr. Lam's family, with the hope of sharing part of the burden of treatment costs and supporting his family financially while he is being treated at home.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duong Minh Chau district supported Mr. Lam's family with 5 million VND; the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Suoi Da commune supported 3 million VND to encourage him and his family to overcome this difficult period. The support fund was drawn from the local Fund for the Poor.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Lam said that after a period of hospitalization and treatment at home, his health has stabilized and his wound has progressed well. He is currently trying to recuperate to prepare for a second surgery in the near future, to put his intestines back into his abdominal cavity after the wound heals.
